I am now an aviation Consultant traveling around the world working for foreign government aviation agencies. At Frontier, besides being a line pilot, I held titles of Chief Pilot, Flight Standards Specialist, and Deputy Director of Operations, as well as being a check airman for twenty years. I've already posted one at FLacebook. Hope you're well. -Jake Lamkins (7/10/17) Re: Jesse Franklin Jake, Enough time has passed that you may have flown West. I want to find Wes Te Winkle. I was thinking about him because we just celebrated my mom's 90th birthday on Mother's day and I've been reminiscing about Frontier and Colorado. I just wanted to tell him hello and hope he and his loved ones are well. You can forward my email to him and if he feels up to it & hasn't flown west himself then he can respond. I went through the list of names and found a few that I remembered such as Fedel so I know that last sunset is always out there. -Tammi Jean Franklin (5/31/23) Haven't heard from Wes in awhile but the last contact I had is below. -Jake Lamkins (6/1/23) Bonnie Dahl Fwd: Wes Te Winkle obit ------------------------- Hello Bonnie, Please find attached the obit and photo for Wesley Te Winkle to pass on to the Frontier Association. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/estes-park-co/wesley-te-winkle-11931556 Thank you for that and have a lovely picnic!! All best, -Kim Te Winkle (8/13/24) Kim & Bonnie, Thank you for letting me know about Wes' flight west. I'm really sorry to hear this. I'll start work soon on his memorial webpage which will be at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Wes_Te_Winkle.html -Jake Lamkins P.S. Kim, If you have a photo of Wes in his Frontier uniform, I'd love to have it, and anything else you want on his webpage. (8/14/24) Hi Jake, I think there is a photo of Wes in his uniform in my book, if not, I will send one I have. I was very sad to hear about Wes. I had called to check on him when that 10,000 sq foot fire was burning near Estes Park. Kim, his daughter, answered and told me he was in hospice with melanoma cancer. She took care of him with the help of a nurse at home. He was one of the best! He came to reunion last 3 years. -Bonnie Dahl (8/14/24) Thanks, Bonnie, I have it in his file. -Jake Lamkins (8/14/24) What a GREAT GUY! I worked with him for years and every day was a pleasure - a great pilot and man. I hope his family realize how wonderful a person he was. -Dave Kaplan (8/14/24) Hi Jake, I couldn't find a photo of my dad in his Frontier Uniform but I did find this in a file 'Frontier photos' - if you haven't seen it before and want to use it, please do. I know he and others took photos of each other's planes over the years so it is possible he took this photo from his cockpit. It might also be a stock photo from FAL Let me know. All best, -Kim Te Winkle (8/14/24) Thanks, Kim, I have a copy of that photo. It was indeed taken by some pilots, though not Wes. I sent word to the pilots whose eddresses I have. Take care, -Jake Lamkins (8/14/24) FLacebook FLIGHT WEST REPORTED WES TE WINKLE 1959 - 1986 PILOT, CHIEF PILOT, DEPUTY DIRECTOR-OPERATIONS, CHECK AIRMAN DEN https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/estes-park-co/wesley-te-winkle-11931556 Post your remembrances of him. -Jake Lamkins (8/14/24) Wes was a big part of the Wiley Adair family.......
