As chairman of the RKO General he was principle player in FL affairs.

RKO General bought FL 1/5/1965 and sold it to PEX 10/5/1985.
Tom O'Neil served on the FL Board of Directors the entire time.
He was Chairman of the Board for General Tire and RKO General for most of that period.
The 1984 FL Annual Reports shows he was joined on the FL Board by his son Shane O'Neil and younger brother M.G. O'Neil.

Tom was THE MAJOR PLAYER in the second half of FL's life.
In the final analysis, what happened to FL resulted from his decisions.
Ironically, Frontier is not mentioned in his obituaries.
