Post your remembrances of him. -Jake Lamkins (5/22/20) Tom worked as a mechanic on Heavy Check in Denver prior to becoming a pilot. -Dick Bennett (5/22/20) I attended Tom Horan’s funeral. It was a very nice service. Only Maury Ryan & me from Frontier were in attendance. His family and some friends & neighbors were there. I’m reading the memory card with the photo of Tom and information & family names. Yes, he was an aircraft mechanic before he became a pilot. Would you like me to send one of these memory cards to you? -Bonnie Dahl (5/23/20) We're pretty sure you've learned by now that Tom Horan passed away on May 12, just 2 1/2 weeks ago. He had suffered for several years from abdominal cancer complicated by vascular dementia, and had been in hospice care for the last eight months of his life. Even with the coronavirus restrictions, his family was able to arrange a small service at a local mortuary with limited visitors. We joined Mary Gail, their daughters and husbands for a small memorial service followed by a rosary. We sure did like Tom a lot, a happy guy and a good friend ever since the early days at Frontier. He's flying with the angels now. -Vic Harper (6/1/20) I heard about Tom's passing and wanted to attend his service, but that wasn't possible. Tom was one of my all time favorite captains! One of my last Frontier layovers with him was punctuated by a trip to the ER for a problem with blood in his urine. -Al Beardsley (6/2/20) That was a wonderful tribute honoring Tom’s memory. He was such a well liked fellow. I’m sorry his last years were so tough. -Billy Walker (6/2/20) Hello Carolyn, I talked to you on the phone a couple of weeks ago, regarding my husband Tom Horan, who was a pilot at Frontier; and you offered to pass along some information to Jake Lamkins, to be posted on the Old Frontier website. Although Tom passed away on May 12th, 2020, and it was posted then, we are just now able to honor his memory. I have attached the invitation for a ceremony we have scheduled at Ft. Logan on Friday, August 13th, along with a Memorial Celebration reception afterwards. In addition, I have attached a map of the Staging Area at Ft. Logan . I have an RSVP deadline of July 31st on the invitation, so it would be good to get this to him as soon as possible. Thank you for doing this! I appreciate your help! -Mary Gail Horan (7/17/21) FLacebook FLight West TOM HORAN 1965 - 1986 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, PILOT SLC DEN Tom Horan's memorial service has been set.
