Dr's said it was the biggest hernia surgery that can be done here. There were 3 hernias repaired. Laproscopic was attempted but not possible with the degree of repair needed. They removed scar tissue and weak tissue in his abdomen from the peritonitis years ago and pulled the muscles from the sides and removed aprox 6" of tissue and then used a Mylar screen to hold it all together. He will be spending at the very least tonight in the ICU and at least a few days here at WRMC. He will leave with tubes when he does leave. It looks like after this he will be in much better shape overall. Please continue to pray for Hope Karpen and Terry Karpen while he begins his recovery. He should be back to his self in a couple weeks or so if all goes well. Thanks! -Sheryn Church Blanchard (4/4/12) Hi Jake, Hope all is good with you, Hope (My wonderful wife), and I are in MCO, waiting for surgery that is scheduled for 4/29.
