SANDY CROUTHAMEL 1968 - 1980 RESERVATIONS AGENT, RESERVATIONS SUPERVISOR STL KCK DEN I was given your name/email by Leslieann Gallagher. It appears you are the go to guy for Frontier. I was employed with Frontier from 1968 to 1980 mostly in reservations and I left to move back East to be closer to my family. Twice in the past couple of years I have received notification from Social Security that I am possibly due a small monthly pension from Frontier. Dick Rohrmann just gave me Leslieann's email, however she is, as you are well aware, involved only with the ESOP. She gave me a number for Penn Mutual, however they have nothing under my name or Frontier Airlines, Frontier anything. When I first received the notification from SS I called them in an effort to gain additional info, but that was to no avail. It is embarrassing to admit that I remember virtually nothing about when I left and pension. I seem to recall a check for a small amount that might have been a pension buyout.. back in the day retirement seemed like something from a Science Fiction novel and lifetimes away! If you have any information that could be helpful I would be most appreciative. It would be a God send if I was eligible for even a small amount monthly as my financial life is a bit stressed, but thankfully my life is blessed in so many other ways. One last request, I was just checking the obituaries and saw that Linda Harris had passed away. I was very close to Linda and like so many others we lost contact over the years. I would very much love to contact her daughter, Monica Beth and share some of the stories of our time together. Do you have any suggestions as to how I might contact a family member? -Sandy Crouthamel (6/21/11) Hi Sandy, ALEA saved our pensions and they are 100% funded at Principal Insurance. Phone them at 1-800-247-7011 to find your options. I got every penny I had coming - a miracle. All I know about Linda's family is what was in the obituary. You might be able to find out something by googling the organizations she was involved with. Was your name Crouthamel while at FL? In DEN? I might have run into you. I was there a lot after I became ALEA Master Chairman. We have a FL newsletter and other networks if you're interested. Regards, -Jake Lamkins (6/21/11) Thanks for your speedy reply and enclosed info. I was only an ALEA member for approx. 6 mos. to a yr. before I accepted a supervisory position in the STLRR. The remainder of my 13 yrs was in management. Therefore I don't know if Principal Insurance would have any involvement with my pension. I moved with the STLRR to MCIRR and spent the majority of my time there. I also was the Assistant Mgr of DENRR for about 18 mos. Doug Sullivan was the manager. Many many people simply referred to me as 'Crout' (sometimes not so affectionately!). John Morgan was my boss for many years and I worked very closely with many DEN folk. Bill Bates team, Lois Taylor etc. Many of my early day friends include Jackie Riddle, Gail Zucker , Ann Ruethling. I am positive I knew you as well, but you could most likely prove me wrong. I was hired in 68 and left in 80. I left to move back East to be with my family and FL's future looked rough. I was also frequently assigned to Ann Yanulavich to assist during heavy complaint situations, such as air traffic slow downs, airport construction etc. I also was assigned the responsibility of all Presidential complaints during Al Feldman's time. I would do just about anything to relive those years. I dearly miss so many of these people and regret losing contact with so many. I have always been Crouthamel, prince charming never came along, however I did adopt 2 beautiful babies from Peru, now 23 and 20. THANKS in a big way and if you can give me any suggestions regarding the pension I would be most appreciative. -Sandy Crouthamel (6/23/11) Hi Sandy, Small world - I was a senior station agent at STL 1968-70. I don't have anything on the management pension plan. Dick Rohrmann might be able to help you. Best regards, -Jake Lamkins (6/23/11) Subject: Sandy Crouthamel Sandy passed away this afternoon at a hospital in PA. She had 2 surgeries in the past week involving an aneurism and it was simply too much for her to handle and her organs began failing. If you go to the facebook page for Bonnie Crouthamel (sister maybe?), she has a bit of explanation on there. -Diane Olesky Johnson (10/22/19) I got word this morning from Dick Rohrmann that Sandy passed away yesterday at the University of Pennsylvania hospital after 2 surgeries for an aneurism. She lived in Merchantville New Jersey - don't any more details at this point. Diane Olesky kept in touch with her so perhaps Diane will get more info. Sandy worked in Reservations in Denver. -Carolyn Boller (10/23/19) FL Club - FLacebook FLight West: Sandy Crouthamel STL KCK DEN reservations agent Sandy Crouthamel flew west yesterday according to her sister on her Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/bonnie.crouthamel.7 -Jake Lamkins (10/23/19) S CROUTHAMEL STL supervisor reservations Emp# 01627 DOB 7/1/47 DOH 3/18/68 Address in St Louis MO Per the Dec 1970 Frontier employee roster. Just ask her son and daughter. She was a longtime supervisor. Diane Olesky Johnson My last contact with Sandy was 10 days before her passing. She asked for prayers about her surgery and the strength to get thru it. I will miss our friendly sparring on politics and other issues. We always respected each other and our differences. RIP Sandy. Laurel Nicewander She was very sweet, RIP Sandy Trish Swanson-Hawk Also worked with Sandy in STL , we have kept in contact over the years. She started with Frontier in Reservations when STL opened. I will miss our chats. She was one fine lady; she will keep the place going until we all meet up again. Sorry to see you go so soon. Love and prayers for her relatives and especially for Ariana and Adam. Kayla Naima RIP Sandy my condolences to her family. Kathy Johnston Bittner So sorry to hear this! She was one of the funniest friends I've ever had. She will be missed... (10/23/19) We continue to receive support and prayers from so many of you that I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you from our hearts. Ariana mentioned to me that she has been getting questions about services for Sandy and I know that many of you are waiting for details. Sandy was very clear in her wishes that we hold a Celebration of Life event for her, instead of a traditional funeral. We did this for our mother/ Ariana and Adam's beloved Nuna. We will be working on the details for that this weekend as a family and will share details as soon as we can get them together. If it is taking a little longer than you were hoping, I do ask for your patience. The many hours between Friday when we got the exciting news about how successful the surgery was and the painful hours Sandy was in intensive care were not just long hours of waiting. That time was a roller coaster experience filled with uncertainty, anxiety, decision making, information processing and walking a tightrope of hope vs acceptance. I suspect many of you have been through something difficult in ways you did not expect. Thank you for understanding that we have needed a recovery day or two before moving into the concrete tasks of planning the event to honor her. Know that we look forward to gathering together with you to truly celebrate Sandy's life. -Bonnie Crouthamel @ Facebook (10/25/19) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Sandy Crouthamel STL KCK DEN reservations supervisor Sandy Crouthamel's memorial webpage had been posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Sandy_Crouthamel.html Still need an obituary for Sandy. -Jake Lamkins (10/31/19)
