Sam Clark has Gone West just days short of his 90th birthday.
One of Sam's sons called Jimmy Dean Appleby to let him know that Sam passed Tuesday.  
Apparently, suddenly.
Sam, a former USMC pilot, was a wonderful IP who made the check-ride enjoyable.  
He will be long remembered as one of the greats of the FLamily!

I was just thinking about him.
This FFC letter on sale today at Ebay has his signature on it.
It was the first CN CV600 service throught FYV to STL.
I was here and at work when it came through.
Our first look at the new aircraft.
I don't know why there were two stews on board unless it was because of the inaugural.

Samuel Putman Clark
June 23, 1933 - June 13, 2023
Sam started his civilian carrier career in 1958 and became a commercial pilot for Central Airlines 
who later merged with Frontier Airlines in 1967. 
While at Frontier, he excelled to be a check airman and 
then the Director of Flight Training. 
His career concluded on June 22, 1993 with Continental Airlines.

Hi Jake,
Sam Clarke, ex Frontier pilot passed away last week in DEN.  Was it posted and I missed it?
His  funeral was yesterday.  June 19, 2023.  He was 90 years old. 
I am an acquaintance of his Son Kevin Clark, a Captain for Southwest Airlines. 
I asked Kevin to send me a photo of his Dad.

Bonnie Dahl
Frontier Captain Sam Clarke passed away on June 13, 2023.  
He was 90 years old.  His funeral was Monday June 19, 2023 in Montgomery, Texas.  
He also worked for Continental until 1993.  He was a great guy!  
His family said “We thank God for every day he was in our lives!”

Sam Clark was one of the finest men I have ever known. 
We flew together at the original Frontier Airlines. 
He administered my last check ride there. 
He was an extraordinarily gifted people person who brought his calm demeanor to every situation. 
His smile would disarm the worst belligerent! 
The world needs more people like him not fewer!
