He left many many friends! Sorry to hear about Rudy he was a good friend to me for many years. -Doyle Osborn (5/4/01) Rudy use to have the most powerful fingers. I'd be working forms and he would walk or sneak up behind you like an old Indian that he was, and with two fingers on the side of your neck he would bring you to your knees. It is a shame to be reminded of the name from the past in that situation but I guess we are all getting a little bit older. -Frank Monheiser (5/4/01) Jake, Bill McKee in DFW sent this to me today. It's Rudy Skeen's obit. I worked with him in DEN for CN from 1961 til the FL merger. I'm not sure what he did with FL after that. I saw him last in DEN about 15 years ago. I'm sure Sam Cales and Fred Krebs would like to know about Rudy if you know how to contact them. -Jim Lane, COS (5/6/01) Thanks, Jim. Barb Turner alerted me to Rudy's death & obit a few days ago. I posted it at the FL Club and sent a note to Sam & a bunch of others. However, I don't have a contact for nor have I heard from Fred since the Crash. -Jake Lamkins (5/6/01) I was recently in IAH and ran into a Ronald Hellmann - said he was kind of a son-in-law of Rudy Skeen. He advised me that Rudy passed away of cancer on about April 30th this year. Didn't know if you had this info or not. He was still living in DEN. -Red Barringer (5/30/01) Thanks, Red I had some info on Rudy already. Here's what I found out: (Recap of above) -Jake Lamkins (5/30/01) R L SKEEN Station agent seniority date of 10/7/57 on the 1/1/74 FL/ALEA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (8/30/07) I was saddened to learn that Errol Klein had passed away. I worked with Errol at Central Airlines in Denver. At that time our crew consisted of Errol, Sam Cales, who was the manager, Rudy Skeen, Vern Bennett, and I. Sadly, Rudy and Sam are also deceased. I remember when Errol was hired. At that time Same and Errol belonged to an archery club, and Sam convinced Errol that working with us was the place to be. He will be sorely missed. -Fred Krebs (1/25/10) Jack Killingsworth sent me some photos from Central Days in Denver. Is this something you could use? Let me know and I'll send copies. I will also identify the folks in the photo's. One is of me when I was much younger and slimmer. I worked with Jack in DEN and he was our ALEA Rep. He now lives in Bartlesville. You do an outstanding job with the Frontier News. Thank you. -Fred Krebs (7/15/10) Would love to see the pix you mentioned. Can you email copies and IDs to me? Did Jack work at FL til the end? -Jake Lamkins (7/15/10) First photo is Flight Attendant Luster and Paul Overdier. Second is Bonnie Deschner who was our reservationist. Third Rudy Skeen, and fourth me. Some of these were taken in 1960, and the rest about the same time. Re Jack Killingsworth, I believe he left Central prior to the merger with FL. -Fred Krebs (7/16/10) Posted at the FL Club: Subject: Updated memorial webpage RUDY SKEEN 1957 - 1986 STATION AGENT, ASSISTANT STATION MANAGER, PASSENGER SERVICE MANAGER, MANAGER-STATION OPERATIONS DEN http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Rudy_Skeen.html Found Rudy's grave and added three items to his website. Most station folks knew Rudy since he did station training so long. Post your remembrances. -Jake Lamkins (4/17/11) While researching the death of another Frontier station agent, I noticed an entry in the Nov 1984 employees roster: R L SKEEN Emp# 07964 DENOO A further search confirmed him as a DEN station agent: He's listed on the Jul 1985 and Jan 1986 station agents seniority lists and as R L SKEEN Emp# 07964, Org# 3301-DEN OO DOB 11/4/32 DOH 10/7/57 Station agent seniority date of 12/2/63 Per the Oct 1986 station agents seniority list. R L SKEEN Emp#07964 EIM time in group C, 20 yrs, 8 mos, 20 days Per the Jul 1984 FL/ALEA seniority lists. So he came back to station agent in early 1985. I'll show his memorial webpage in both management and agent categories. -Jake Lamkins (5/10/23) FLacebook FLIGHT WEST UPDATED RUDY SKEEN 1957 - 1986 STATION AGENT, ASSISTANT STATION MANAGER, PASSENGER SERVICE MANAGER, MANAGER-STATION OPERATIONS DEN http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Rudy_Skeen.html Found a bit more info on Rudy.
