RICHARD DIX 1968 - 1986 STATION AGENT MKC OMA Last thing I can remember Larry Vail working was the graveyard shift like midnight to 8:00 a.m. when we worked EA. He transfered to SMF then....but what a crew we had on the graveyard... that's when Al Louis was hired...Dec. of "72". I remember Larry said he did not see Al's face until spring when the weather turned warm...what memories. -Richard Dix (1/25/00) Several OMA agents have gone west. You might give Ed Hatfield a call for the complete list. -Richard Dix (5/29/07) R DIX Station agent seniority date of 2/19/68, emp# 01871, on the 1/1/86 FL/ALEA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (11/6/08) I received word that Richard Dix passed away on December 27, 2012 after a brief battle with carcinoid colon cancer and angio sarcoma. Richard (Dixie) was a station agent in Omaha. He was a "gentle giant", a great person, usually worked forms. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, who was diagnosed with cancer shortly after Richard's death, and I believe, two children and two grandchildren. Kathy is now doing well. Dixie loved playing pranks. Another good man down. Thanks for all you do. -Mary Robertson Harter (12/31/13) Sorry to hear about Dix. Talked to him many times when I worked in LNK. -Don Porter (12/31/13) Richard and I went to high school together. He was the one that encouraged me to apply at Frontier when I got out of the Marine Corps in 1968. And I must say it was a very good run for me 1968 until the end in 1986. -Larry Stivers (12/31/13) I remember 'Dixie' from OMA station. He was great to work with and with the EAL flights and the FAL flights that place was often a 'beehive' due to frequent multi ops. Richard Dix was a great team player during all those times and always tried to make it fun. Prayers for his family members. RIP Richard Dix -Chuck Tisckos (1/2/14) Richard Dix went west 12/27/12. He was a very good station agent! He died in Glenwood, IA. He worked in OMA, MKC & back in OMA. He will be missed by me. -Lee Davis (1/3/14) FLacebook and FL Club OMA station agent Richard Dix' memorial webpage is posted. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Richard_Dix.html Still need a photo of Richard. -Jake Lamkins (1/19/14) I worked with him when I was in OMA after a system furlough. He was a great guy to work with and knew his job inside out. Sorry to hear about him. -Penny Law Tritthart (1/19/14)
