RAY SEYBOLD 1956 - 1973 STATION AGENT, STATION MANAGER, MANAGER-STATION OPERATIONS FMN PUB GUP COD DEN THE PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN, Sunday, December 24, 2006 Article on City Council candidates Ray Seybold Age: 72 Employment: Semi-Retired Seat: At large Why did you apply for Council? The future of our city depends on the people that would be making the decisions on our City Council. I consider the City Council a full-time responsibility to the people of Pueblo and each Council member should have time to consider every issue, with an open mind, as every decision will effect rich and poor people and must be made to the betterment of all. What qualifications do you have that you can apply to the job? I have a high school education; however, I have 20 years of working in the corporate world. I worked for Frontier Airlines, beginning as a baggage handler to manager of six different cities and finally becoming regional manager in 11 states, with my responsibility with over six hundred employees in the 59 cities. While employed by Frontier Airlines, I attended continuing education classes in management of people and public relations. A big part of my job as regional manager was meeting with and keeping the mayors and city councils happy with the airline service. The last 40 years, I have spent living in the great city of Pueblo. In these 40 years, I have developed and ran five successful businesses in our community. All of these businesses continue today as successful contributors of our economy. I believe the greatest education of life came from being involved with people, and getting to know and understand their needs. What do you see as the most important issue facing Council next year? I have visited all 50 states in my lifetime. Throughout my travels, I have seen some well-planned cities and many cities that have had little or no planning. It is easy to tell the ones that have planned for their future, by the easiness of transportation in them to allow for traffic flow, and the beautiful way the city looks. We must plan for good transportation and job growth for our future. I believe we must plan for the 200,000-300,000 people that will live in our city some day. A master plan must show how we want our city to look in 2020 and beyond. If we don't plan, we will be in much the same shape that Colorado Springs is today, with traffic problems and no effective major east-west highway and no easy way around the city. -The Pueblo Chieftain Online (3/14/07) R D SEYBOLD Emp# 07820 PUB station manager DOB 12/21/34 DOH 7/19/56 Per the Dec 1970 employees roster. -Jake Lamkins (12/20/23) Google Alerts "Frontier Airlines" obituary Raymond Doan Seybold Obituary - The Pueblo Chieftain Ray worked briefly in construction and for the railroad but mostly for the original Frontier Airlines.
