His son, Jack Burnell, started with Monarch on Jan 1, 1946 and became director of maintenance. Pop was an aircraft mechanic in engine overhaul. He was 68 when he started with Monarch in Jul 1946. Working for his son Jack Burnell who started with Monarch in Jan 1946 and was director of maintenance and engineering.
