PHIL STEEN 1962 - 1986 PILOT MKC DEN Phil's wife Helen is in the 1979 Frontier Family Cookbook. -Jake Lamkins (12/4/04) Hi Frosty, I found the attached photo in my file dated 1966 CN ALPA. I ID it as ?, Leonard Pratt, ?, Ken Coggeshall and you. Do you recall the other two? Was this the MEC or the negotiating committee and is 1966 right? Thanks for your help, -Jake Lamkins (4/25/10) This picture was taken at the 1966 ALPA Board of Directors Meeting (Convention). I think Phil and I are the only ones left and I seem to remember hearing that Phil was pretty feeble -H. A. "Jack" Frost (4/25/10) I discovered Phil's flight west recently while updating John Scrivner's webpage. P STEEN Pilot seniority date of 7/23/62 DOB 4/12/24 per the Sep 1970 pilots seniority list. He is also shown on the Sep 1981 list but not the Sep 1985 list. Normally he would have retired on his 60th birthday in 1984 but he may have continued in a non-flight status. PHIL STEEN Emp# 08118, DENDT Flight Training Address in Arvada, CO per the Nov 1984 Frontier Roster. He is also listed in the Aug 1990 roster but with no address. Looks like he worked in flight training after he quit flying. The ALPA Roster shows him retiring 8/83. The pilot domicle list for May 1983 lists him as a DEN 737 captain. He is not on the May 1984 domicile list. I'll show him working til the bankruptcy until I hear otherwie. -Jake Lamkins (10/14/18) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Phil Steen MKC DEN pilot Phil Steen's memorial webpage is posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Phil_Steen.html I recently discovered that Phil flew west 5 years ago. Post your remembrances of him. -Jake Lamkins (10/16/18) I didn't know Phil well, but found him to be a cordial fellow in the crew room. He was apparently well liked by everyone. Sorry to learn of his passing. And FIVE years ago at that! -Billy Walker (10/16/18) Thanks Jake for all that you do to keep us all informed. I well remember Phil. He was a cool guy. I knew that he and I believe his brother were dancers and performers in their youth. He would come into the crew room, drop his bags and proceed to perform a soft show routine - displaying the happy guy that he was. One time during a bad winter day with a large crowd in the crew room, we talked Phil into entertaining us. He jumped on a table and and did a full routine. God speed my friend. -Jim Currie (10/17/18)
