PATRICK BARRY 1976 - 1986 RESERVATIONS AGENT, TICKET COUNTER AGENT DEN Hi Carolyn, I've been going through the treasure trove you sent. I found two res lists with deceased check marks. Six of them I do not have in my records. Can you send any info on them, such as first names, cause/dates of death, etc? P. Barry Marguerite Bagley Jane Jones Nancy Moritz Carol Nyberg B. Patrick's real name was Cheevers Moran Barry III and he was born on February 6, 1944 in Norfolk, VA. Patricks final post with Frontier was as a ticket counter agent as he had transfered along with myself and several others from reservations just a few short months before the airline closed her doors. He was preceeded in death by his father Cheevers Moran Barry Jr. in 1966 and his mother Eileen Pershing Shannon in 1968; both whom died at early ages as well (49 & 50) and were buried in Dallas, TX. It is possible that Patrick was buried there or perhaps was cremated or buried elsewhere by special friends who stood by him especially in those final months. Patrick was bright and had a great sense of humor. He loved to travel the world and had no problems doing so on a shoestring budget or in luxory depending upon the opportunity. We laughed together whole heartedly one time when one of the big wigs from Frontier was conducting meetings during contract negotiations when they were trying to get us to give back things like vacation time. I don't remember the man's name but I clearly remember him saying he couldn't see why people felt the need to have so many weeks of vacation. He claimed to have 3 weeks himself and never used most of them. Patrick and I just looked at each other and then simultaneously said "Bull shit". We got a few looks for that but both Patrick and I not only used the vacation time that was contractually permitted to the very last hour but also traded as many days as possible, sometimes for cash but most often for extra days off so that we could have more travel opportunities well beyond our allotment. His lifestyle was perhaps frowned upon by many during that time period and yet today would mostly not be given a second thought. For me it mattered not because he was always kind and considerate, and as I was raising my younger brother during my years at Frontier, he understood well why I didn't go to places like the Flair or airline parties. Instead, whenever he had a party for the holidays such as Halloween or Christmas he not only invited me but made sure that my 9 year old sibling was included and that the atmosphere would be appropriate for his attendance. He was a very good man. -Sheila Herrmann (11/20/20) Thanks for the remembrance. I've added it to his memorial webpage at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Patrick_Barry.html Do you have any photos of him? -Jake Lamkins (11/20/20) Sheila Herrmann Unfortunately I do not but let me try to reach out to a couple of others to see what they might have. (11/20/20) Trish Swanson-Hawk Remember him from Res. and TCA. always thought he was funny and such a nice person; as for his lifestyle he was no different than a lot of people and was well liked. Did not know about his parents, so sad, thanks for the info. Now they all can be in heaven together and will meet us. (11/21/20)
