PAT FACKENTHALL FOREHAND 1958 - 1960? FLIGHT ATTENDANT DEN? Patricia (Pat) Fackenthall Forehand, 61, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died on Friday, May 12, 2000 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her son, Tim Forehand. She is survived by her parents, retired Air Force Colonel Warren A. Fackenthall and Alice Keenan Fackenthall of the family home; her sisters, Rita Schnedar of San Diego, CA and Georgia DeWitz of Seattle, WA; her grandchildren, Christopher and Whitney Forehand; and numerous nephews and nieces. Pat was born on July 16, 1938 in Spokane, Washington and moved to New Mexico in 1951. She attended the Loretto Academy in Santa Fe, and both Highland High School and St. Vincent's Academy in Albuquerque, as well as the University of New Mexico. At UNM she was a Communications Major, a member of the Debate Team, and was active in the Newman Club. Pat was also a competitive swimmer for the Lady Lobos, a member of both"Waterlous" and"The Synchronettes" - UNM's popular synchronized swimming troupe - and served as a Red Cross Life Guard and Water Safety Instructor. She was also a fashion model,"Miss Wool of New Mexico" and"Miss Scottsdale Arizona", and a flight attendant for Frontier, Aloha and Continental Airlines. She also appeared in the movie"Blue Hawaii" with Elvis Presley. Pat was a life member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, served as a community, civic and political volunteer, and was employed by the Wackenhut Corporation at Kirtland Air Force Base. A Memorial service will be conducted for Pat at Albuquerque's Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE 87108 (telephone 265-5957) at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 25, 2000 with Father Joe Vigil officiating. A reception, hosted by the family, will follow. Information and directions will be provided at the services.
