He's not on the 1/1/86 seniority list as either SA or TCA. -Jake Lamkins (3/14/08) Yet another friend has flown west. Neil Wickstrum passed away last Friday, August 10th. I met him first in MHK in the fall of 1969. I am not sure of his seniority date, but am rather sure that he worked in DEN for quite some time after leaving MHK. Attached is his obituary from the funeral home's website. -Jim Aschbrenner (8/13/12) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: MHK DEN station agent Neil Wickstrum has died http://www.ymlfuneralhome.com/YMLObituaryDetail.Asp?ONumber=1670&From=Upcoming Post your remembrances of Neil. -Jake Lamkins (8/13/12) Neil was a great friend and a first class guy. I worked with him in MHK from 1968-1973. We shared some great times hunting, fishing and sharing life. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him. We lost a great one! -Dave Jarvis (8/15/12) Letter: With deep regret that my news is not good. Neil Wickstrum, my co-worker and friend, cleared the waitlist and flew west. He was not only a great co-worker but a better friend . Seems like we're building one heck of an airline in the west. He will be missed by all of us who worked with him and had the privilege to call him friend. -Jack Dailey (8/17/12) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: MHK station agent Neil Wickstrum's memorial webpage has been posted. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Neil_Wickstrum.html If Neil went to DEN when MHK closed, 1/6/83, he didn't work there long as he is not on the 8/85 DEN Roster or the 1/1/86 seniority list. Post your remembrances of Neil. -Jake Lamkins (8/17/12) Neil was in DEN but not sure how long, and I can't remember if he was still there when I left in 86 or not. He may have headed back to KS to his family. I worked with Neil in 79 at MHK. Very nice guy, but quieter than most of the guys. -Bob Schneider (8/17/12) Rest in peace, Neil. We knew each other mostly through the telephone and teletype. I was in Topeka for 7 of the years that Neil worked in MHK and we talked several times each week. Such a pleasant man and always willing to help. -Tom Schmidt (8/17/12) Neil was still working in DEN the summer of 85. I think he took the early out offered about that time. Moved back to MHK and took a different job. Neil was a very close friend of mine. We had stayed in touch after the Aug. 1986 thing. You could not know Neil and not like and respect him. -Roger Vote (12/29/12)
