Post any info you have. Jake (6/25/13) From what I recall - Mike Yancey had replaced the MKE station manager (Larry?) early summer 1986. I believe that Larry(?) transferred from MKE to OMA as station manager. Mike Yancey might have one time worked at either OMA and/or DEN. Following WBU (Boulder) closing early July 1986 - I returned back as an agent at MSN for a couple weeks before I was awarded the Senior Agent MKE. I arrived MKE late July 1986. At MKE - I filled in as the temporary station manager for Mike when he went on vacation the last week of Frontier's service (August 17-23, 1986). -Mike Gordon (6/25/13) FLacebook Does anyone remember Mike Yancey who was MKE station manager toward the end. I just verified his death in Jan 1990, age 37. Post any info you have. -Jake Lamkins (6/25/13) Yes, Mike was one of the SSA's while I was there. We were just a couple of the 15 guys that helped open MSN. When I got the MKE City manager position Mike came over as an SSA. Great guy and good friend. He took over as the temporary city manager when I got the City mgrs job in OMA. He closed MKE and moved back to Memphis to work for FEDEX. As I recall he was involved in a late night one car crash into a tree. We didn't hear about it until well after it occurred. Couldnt have been much older than 35 or 36 yrs old. -Larry Johnson (6/25/13) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: DEN MSN MKE senior station agent Mike Yancey's memorial webpage has been posted. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Mike_Yancey.html Still need a photo and obituary for Mike. -Jake Lamkins (6/29/13) Mike Yancey completed his Frontier Airlines career as the MKE station manager. I had the privilege (albeit far too short) reporting to him at the MKE station. He was on vacation the last full week of Frontier's service. I will try to locate the letter to verify this. The three MKE Mikes, Mike, Mike Patterson and I, pushed out the B-737 ferry flight very early Sunday morning (0500?) - August 24, 1986 back to DEN. We had to convince the fueler that the A/C was needed elsewhere for a charter. Rest well Michael - I truly enjoyed our golfing ventures in and around MKE following the FAL shutdown. It was a much-needed break. -Mike Gordon (6/29/13)
