I moved on to the help desk and in the end I was working in the very busy department of consumer affairs replying to angry passengers after People's Express brought on the "no frills service". My Dad (Lyle Anderson) also worked for FL all of my childhood, so I grew up flying in the DC-3's. Yikes! I just gave away my age. I have lots of fond memories and made life long friends. It's nice to see a lot of folks feel the same way I do. -Sheri Diehl (8/4/07) Can you put this ad in the next issue? I've enclosed $30 for both sides business card. This is our grandson trying to make it in the business world as well as keeping his current job @ DIA Payless Car Rental. (Terry Anderson, Jr.) There is always an auction @ our 2007 Denver Annual FAL get together. I was able to outbid everyone for the framed logos designed by Craig H. Hansen. I thought maybe readers would enjoy. They also had t-shirts made up and I believe available thru Barb and Bill Monday. -Lyle H. Anderson, Denver Rez, hire date March 8, 1963. (2/12/08) Lyle passed away this morning after a long illness. Lyle was a supervisor in Reservations and truly one of the good guys in the world. The Res Agents highly respected Lyle and he treated us with the same respect. I know he saved my butt several times over the years. He loved to travel and never missed a party where ever it was. A truly special person and he will be missed. Memorial services are pending for Friday and I will send an obit as soon as we get one. Should be in Wednesday's paper. -Carolyn Boller (7/28/09) Posted at the FL Club DEN res supervisor Lyle Anderson has died Carolyn Boller wrote: Lyle passed away this morning after a long illness. He and Jan were unable to attend the Phoenix FAL Reunion in 2008 but we were looking forward to seeing them in 2010. I have their home address so will drop a Sympathy card to the family tomorrow. So sad to loose the good ones. May he rest in Peace. Thanks Carolyn for the information. -Ginger Treptow, PHX Reunion Committee. He was compassionate, understanding, showed empathy and would assist anyone with anything. The number of memories we could all share are too numerous to count; drinks at the Flair Lounge, hopping a flight just for the heck of it, and more (of course, some of the stories might have to be "R" rated!). He's a gentleman beyond compare. My only regret is that I never got to see him after the shutdown. God be with you, Lyle! -Chuck Dolan, DENRR 1978-1986 (7/29/09) Obit in 7-30-09 Denver Post. Lyle was a terrific person, always upbeat and was a supervisor in reservations. -Ernie Van Winkle (7/30/09) Lots of FAL folks attended the funeral. Kayla Pfeiffer Naima spoke and her remarks were so true of Lyle. -Carolyn Boller (8/2/09) I just flew into Denver for overnight and heard about Lyle and stayed. He was the best supervisor FL had in reservations. -Kayla Pfeiffer Naima (8/3/09) H. L. ANDERSON Reservation agent seniority date of 3/6/63 on the 2/1/65 FL/ALEA seniority list. He's not on the 1/1/66 seniority list so he must have gone into management by then. -Jake Lamkins (8/6/09) Posted at the FL Club DEN reservations supervisor Lyle Anderson's memorial webpage is posted. LYLE ANDERSON 1963 - 1986 RESERVATION AGENT, RESERVATIONS SUPERVISOR DEN http://FAL-1. tripod.com/ Lyle_Anderson. html One of FL's best supervisors judging from all the FLolks' comments who worked under him. I never saw him at a grievance hearing in all my years as an ALEA officer. Which means he didn't have grievances filed against him. Post your remembrances of this extraordinary man. -Jake Lamkins (8/6/09) My husband always read the FRONTIER NEWS cover to cover. Dick Rorhmann told me of his letter to you regarding Lyle. What a shock to turn to the next page and see a letter from John Morgan dated 5/23/99!!! John's wife, Bobbie had been here in Denver at our house since June to help out. We both had a good laugh about the guys always had to do things together. John had trained Lyle in Payload in the old Hanger in 1963/1964. We have been close friends since then with a lot of travel time together on "planes, trains and automobiles" and cruises. Bobbie and I just returned from joining Lyle's ashes with John's in a private family cemetery on a ranch near Luchenbach, TX. -Jan Anderson (11/3/09) Great hearing from you and I appreciate your support of the FL News. I didn't realize John and Lyle were such close friends. It seems so appropriate they were in the same issue. It had taken me years to collect enough info on John to do his memorial page justice. And the 1999 info was misfiled and only located this year. -Jake Lamkins (11/4/09) Note with Xmas card: Thought you might want this obituary! It was in a small local paper here - Lyle Anderson, son also.
