LOU PECORA 1964 - 1979 STATION AGENT OLF BIL When I was working for Combs, I also was a flight instructor for several FAL personnel working the BIL station (Lou Pecora and Jerry Zapp). I was hired by FAL as a pilot in May 1973 and flew out of DEN until the end. I was on a layover in MOT when we shut down. -Jim Currie in the 2003 BIL Reunion booklet (5/10/05) I worked as a Station Agent from 1964 to 1979. I started in Wolf Point and in 68 transferred to Billings. After leaving FAL I have worked in Real Estate and Income Tax Preparation and am still doing so. That about sums it up! -Lou Pecora in the 2003 BIL Reunion booklet (5/14/05) In case you don't know who some of the people are in the 2006 reunion group photo I sent earlier, they are: Front row: Bob Voight, Ernie Harms, Irwin Humphrey, Lyle McGarvin, Lou Pecora, Hardy Hanson, Jim Purdy, Darrel Fenter and Jim Schwartz Back row left to right: Roger Greenlee, Al Krauter, Al Kwasney, Loren Holmgren, Ron Huet, Darlene Spieler, Doug Englehart, Ollie Brunz, Dee Martenson, Vern Russell, Bob Hooper, Jerry Schimetz, Darrel Robson, Larry Sanger, George Smith and Bill Beukenhorst. -Dee Martenson (8/11/06) I was just advised by a mutual friend that Lou has been moved into Riverstone Hospice care. He had been in Billings Health and Rehab for therapy following the stroke that he had. They've now found that he has a tumor on his brain which was the reason he had a stroke. It does not sound very good for him at this time. I'll try to keep everyone up to date on his condition as I get it. -Darrell Robson (4/13/14) My good friend of 48+ years just saddled up and rode off into the sunset! Godspeed, Lou Pecora! May you rest in peace! This is where the Cowboy rides away by George Strait would be most fitting here. -Darrell Robson (4/22/14) FLacebook - FL Club BIL station agent Lou Pecora did not fly west today, he rode off into the sunset, according to a post by BIL station agent Darrell Robson. Lou worked at OLF BIL 1964 - 1979. -Jake Lamkins (4/22/14) Lou suffered a massive stroke on January 15, and was placed in a rehab facility, but was not responding well. A brain scan revealed a tumor on his brain, and was subsequently placed in a Hospice house. He fought a brave fight for about 9 days, but lost the battle about 2:50 P. M. today (April 27) with his daughter and a handful of friends at his side. It was heart-wrenching to be with him and not being able to help. RIP, Lou. Thankfully, he was not in pain. -Darrell Robson (4/22/14) That's a sad story. He was a neat guy. -Bonnie Dahl (4/23/14) I sent a picture of Lou to Darrel for use at the funeral that was taken at the OLF airport in Nov. of 1967. The photo above is from the group shot at the 2006 BIL reunion. Lou had a marvelous sense of humor and more energy than the Energizer Bunny. Loved to see him with the cloggers...out dancing the youngsters in the group! -Dee Martenson Darrell Robson Funeral services set for May 8 @ 11:00 A. M. @ St. Pius X Church on Broadwater Avenue, Billings. -Darrell Robson (4/24/14) May you dance in heaven with all the wonderful ladies; prayers for the family -Patricia Trish Swanson-Hawk (4/27/14) FLacebook - FL Club OLF BIL station agent Lou Pecora's memorial webpage has been posted. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Lou_Pecora.html -Jake Lamkins (5/4/14) Have been meaning to send this photo to you.
