See article in FebMar 1959 Frontiersman. -Jake Lamkins (11/11/05) Lorraine Slaugh - Stewardess - Gone West Here's an addition to your website to honor my mother, Lorraine Slaugh Wilson. I understand she flew the Phoenix to Albuquerque flight in the 1950s sometime. She and her sister Alberta Rae Slaugh Heeren were the first ever sisters hired to the same airline. Alberta (Birdie) was based in Denver. Lorraine was based in Phoenix. I understand they were also exchange stewardesses to Hawaiian Airlines in the 1950s sometime. Serving with Frontier Airlines and serving as the shop steward for the stewardess union were the things she was most proud of before becoming a wife and mother. -Linda Wilson Stephens (12/13/18) Hi Linda, It's great hearing from you though I'm sorry to hear your mom has flown west. I'll build memorial webpages for her and her sister. Please send pix of Birdie. It would be helpful if you could send larger scans of your mom's pix too. Also, do you have an obituary for them? -Jake Lamkins (12/13/18) She is not on the Nov 1961 flight attendant seniority list. I'll show her leaving in 1960 until info otherwise is received. -Jake Lamkins (12/13/18) FLacebook - FL Club FLights West: Birdie Nelson & Lorraine Slaugh These flight attendant sisters started together on Jan 18, 1954 and flew until 1960 at least. Birdie was a widow whose husband had died from Korean War injuries six months before. Both have flown west and I'm working on their memorial webpages. Post your remembrances of this unusual pair. -Jake Lamkins (12/22/18) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Lorraine Slaugh Wilson PHX flight attendant Lorraine Slaugh Wilson's memorial webpage is posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Lorraine_Slaugh_Wilson.html I'll be posting her sister Birdie Nelson's memorial webpage soon. -Jake Lamkins (12/24/8) Wow!
