LES SIMPSON 1959 - 1986 STATION AGENT, ASSISTANT STATION MANAGER, SENIOR STATION AGENT DEN HIS WIFE WAS FLIGHT ATTENDANT MARY PAT LANGDON SIMPSON Les is a CSA with Northwest Airlines...he is a real live ticket counter agent... they have the E-ticket machines....but people, those are there to eliminate live employees.... once passengers get to the point where they can do it themselves, why will they need the TCA or CSA to check them in? Or issue the tickets? They are not unlike the check yoursellf out cash registers in the grocery stores. -Mary Pat Langdon Simpson (9/20/04) LESTER N SIMPSON ARVADA CO 68 -US Search (9/21/04) Nope, Les is not retired yet, but he is talking more and more about it...says he's sick of the "crap" that goes on... its just not like the old days...its NOTHING like the old days....lol...I haven't been on a plane since B4, 9/11... I just chose to drive...nothing against flying, but now its such a disaster to even try to get on a plane... --Mary Pat Langdon Simpson (4/2/05) Les fell getting out of the car at work last September...(2004). He went to see the "doctors" at the airport....but they made him DRIVE to a hospital for xrays of his foot... but they figured he sprained his ankle....and he worked on that foot for a week at least..... I knew something was wrong by the way he walked and when he showed me his foot.... it had started to turn blue on the toes and had red streaks across the foot. SO....I took him to St. Anthony's North Hospital, they did xrays of his FOOT... and found he had broken his foot when he fell. He went to tell them out at the airport, and they gave him a list of doctor's names and my orthopedic dr was on the list, so Les got to go to him.... he was put in a walking cast...a soft thing...and had to stay off his feet....but they made him go to work every day... all he could do was sit in the employee lounge and do what little bits of paperwork they could dig up for him.... he was in that cast for over 6 months....my doctor is very cautious....anyway, hes' back to full duty now.... and is wanting to retire, but maybe work part time....I hope he can do this soon..... -Mary Pat Langdon Simpson (5/31/05) Just letting you know that Les is retiring Dec. 15th. With NWA filing bankruptcy, and cutting their pay, he has had enough and made the decision to just get out while he still could, and could get his pension. Will write when I know more details about the party his co-workers are having for him AFTER Christmas... -Mary Pat Langdon Simpson (11/24/05) Best wishes for retirement, Les. I hope you enjoy it as much as I. And hope NW doesn't screw with your pension like UA did. I heard Gary Pinson, who is retired now from UA, got his pension cut. He's living in Florida now. -Jake Lamkins (11/24/05) Jake, old boy, please send me the info FLamily group. Hope your old body is holding up -Les Simpson (3/3/07) Hi Les, Great hearing from you. I'll have yahoo send you an invite to the FL Club. You can use the same yahoo ID/password as your yahoo email. I'm hanging in there and enjoying retirement. Hope you are too. My doc says I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I'm in. HA! A few months ago he prescribed a glass of red wine a day for my heart. So, after being dry for 15 years, I've been enjoying that glass every evening. It's the little things that make life great, right? I know you had a long career at FL. What cities, positions, years, etc were you at? Take care and keep in touch. -Jake Lamkins (3/3/07) Posted at the FL Club Les Simpson is our newest member/ Les was a longtime station agent & senior station agent in DEN. He retired from NW in Dec 2005. And about 40 years ago or more he married a Frontier "stewardess" named Mary Pat who has been after him to join the Club for some time. He was a good Dad, a good man, and a good husband to my Mom. This year would have been year 62 of their marriage. Dad always made people smile or laugh. He was honest, silly, kind, and he loved people deeply. There is nothing my Dad wouldn't do for the people he loved. I will miss him so very much. I love you, Dad.
