Mount Olivet Funeral Home 2301 N. Sylvania Ave., 831-0511 -Ft Worth Star-Telegram (12/1/99) Flew often with Les during my 11 1/2 years as F/O, and in DEN we hunted, fished, drank some booze and chased.......(knowledge). A dear friend whom I'll miss. The leaves are falling and the westbound ATC corridors are becoming congested. -Clyde Hart (12/3/99) I'm sure that everyone didn't hold Les in the same esteem that I did.... but that's not important. Few of you knew of his intellectual capacity. Imagine a F/O, (me) flying with him through all the stops from DAL to DEN in a DC-3, and having him recite the out-off-on-in times, through all the stops from then to there. Les could. He had total recall, (and it didn't relate to schedule times). Many are called, but few are chosen. Les was one of them. I'll miss him until we're all together in the FAL family. -Clyde Hart (12/21/99) Les F. Guthrie: Social Security Death Index (SSDI) Death Record Name: Les F. He taught me to fly the DC-3 and he taught me to fly thunderstorms. We both carried Colts and a fast-draw rig on our trips. Great memories, great pilot and a great friend .. miss him!! -Phil Stallings (2/19/12)
