Just heard that Captain Larry J Miles passed away on Sunday, June 2 in Hemet, CA. 
We flew sailed, crewed Dave Norland's P-51 together for a lot of years. 
Great pilot and friend. He will be missed.

Larry J Miles was born in 1935. 
Larry currently lives in Hemet, California. 
Before that, Larry lived in Larkspur, CO from 1970 to 2008.

I heard from Carol (Poling) Carter - 
she and Chris were good friends of theirs - 
and she told me a little about what happened. 
Larry has had heart problems for a number of years 
and moved to CA because the altitude in CO was becoming a problem. 
He had just returned from a golf trip with his wife, 
Merrilyn, and friends, went into the hospital for an angioplasty 
that didn't go well and two days later passed away. 
She didn't have any additional information at that time.

Larry was a heck of a good fellow.   
I doubt anyone ever thought of him as anything less than terrific!   
His Dad was a senior TWA pilot, so Larry had the flyin' bug early.   
He was a good pilot and so pleasant to be around.

sorry, I can't tell you the date but I'm guessing 
the late 90's or possibly the early 2000's.
