LARRY "SLEDGE" HARMS 1966 - 1986 STATION AGENT LNK The FLamily at Lincoln, Nebraska had a great time at a 20 year reunion on October 7, 2006. We met at The Steak House in Lincoln and had a great meal of Nebraska steaks and other fabulous food. There was much reminiscing and stories told (not all lies) and a great time was had by all. I got my twenty year pin one week before they closed. Being in the right place and lucky I was hired as a Corporate Manager for an Intermodal Company out of Omaha NE. Unlucky they sold out two years later, but after bouncing around I was hired by Air Express International AEI, a forwarder, as their City Manager and then later as District Manager for the states of NE, SD and IA. They then were sold after 10 years to DHL which I had chance to go to as Vice President of Ocean Services but it was in New Jersey and after visiting decided I would retire and stay in Lincoln NE. I then did several different jobs as I was bored after couple months. First as Security for an Insurance company, then for the State NE Roads dept Contract division and then to the NE State Patrol in their Criminal Identification Department and finally to where I am now at part time Security at the State Farm Insurance Company 3 days a week unless need few weeks off to visit family. I have 6 grandchildren and 2 of them are in Georgia I was the one they called Sledge the other Larry Harms was called Hammer -Larry Harms (6/4/07) Larry Harms @ Facebook Kenneth LeRoy Byers 34 years Frontier Airlines Agent passed away April 16th 2012 at his home in the afternoon. About that time I believe 101 called in and advised they had company in the cockpit. I had already alerted our personnal and they had called airport auth and police. When flight was on approach they saw the police lights etc and was ordered to pull up and they went to MCI next. They would have landed in LNK but for the tower and police lights all around. Don't remember the day. Later in year aircraft went through LNK and terminated overnight. We told one cleaning agent it was haunted and he would not go on board to clean. -Larry Harms (7/30/12) FLacebook: I want to thank all of you who wished me a Happy Birthday yesterday, it meant a lot to me as I know many of you are also busy. Wife is canning tomatoes like crazy and now putting up cucmbers from new receipt which is great. She is working too hard, but Kids and Grandkids and of course I love the canned food. There has to be a story behind that but I don't know it...yet. Post your remembrances of "Sledge. -Jake Lamkins (8/16/20) Mike White It was an honor to have worked both The Larrys when I first started with Frontier in LNK 45 years ago. One was nicknamed Sledge and one Hammer. Sledge was my W&B Trainer and Hammer helped me on air freight. They also more importantly were good friends. (8/22/21)
