JOHN SALSBURY 1965 - 1986 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, LEAD AIRCRAFT MECHANIC DEN Looking for John Salsbury. John worked DEN line mech and lead mech from about 66, I think. He had back problems and possibly med retirement before the shutdown. -Larry True (8/6/07) J SALSBURY Seniority date of 5/25/66 on the 11/1/76 FL/IAM seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (8/6/07) I resigned in Oct. 1984. My husband John was a Line Mechanic with FAL and went on Socail Security Disability in 1982....... Oliver was my maiden name (((((( : > -Shari Oliver Salsbury (2/17/14) John was a mechanic for FAL in Denver. I received an email about his death from his wife Shari this am. -Herb Weickum (11/2/16) John Salsbury I forwarded a message from Shari Salsbury: John her husband of 48 years passed away early Monday AM. He was 81 years old. He started with Frontier as a mechanic in July 1965, retired with a disability in 1985. He was a great guy, and a great lead mechanic. He went back to regular line mechanic to be able to work swing shift instead of night shift. He also worked as mechanic in PHX, ABQ then back to DEN as they closed those bases. He and Shari have been living in Scottsdale, AZ. I feel so sorry that Shari has lost John. -Bonnie Dahl (11/2/16) J SALSBURY Seniority date of 5/25/66 on the 11/1/80 FL/IAM seniority list. J SALSBURY Seniority date of 5/25/66 MED on the 5/1/86 FL/IAM seniority list. He must have lost a year somewhere - perhaps in management - since the FL news articles show his anniversary in Jul 1965 and as Bonnie Dahl mentions in her email. -Jake Lamkins (11/3/16) Got a text early 11.2 from Shari Salisbury saying John passed away while watching a movie in his recliner! She said one moment he was snoring, the next she heard a loud noise- went to check on it- and he was dead in his recliner! Very, very sad! To my knowledge he was in fairly good health, but haven't seen him for almost 2 years! John was a DEN maintenance and I think he was a supervisor! -Pat Williams-harter (11/4/16) Photo of John Salsbury I appreciated Bonnie's email to you regarding John's passing There is one correction, 1983 was the year John had to go on Disability, not 1985 John was crushed when had to give up the job he loved sooo much and remained that way for years. . We had a standing "joke", with one another, regarding our jobs with FAL. Depending on the circumstances, one of us would say to the other, "Sometimes, I think you love your job, more than you do me"! P.S. Neither of us ever replied to that accusation! Thank you for all that you do, Jake, in keeping the Flamily together! -Shari Oliver Salsbury (11/4/16) Thanks for the pic and info, Shari. I found John's name on the IAM May 1986 seniority list as MED so technically he was with FL until the end. Send a better photo if you find one and I'll let you know when I post his FL memorial webpage. -Jake Lamkins (11/5/16) New photo of John: Hope this is better. Neither John or I knew he was still listed on the Seniority List On the Memorial, would you please make note of John going on Disability in 1983 Just to spare someone's brain cells, if they're trying to remember when John faded into the sunset Thx U, again & again, Jake for your time & efforts! You are cherished by the entire FLamily for keeping us together in Spirit -Shari Oliver Salsbury (11/5/16) Thank you for the kind words. This pic is better than the first which was dark. I hope to work on his webpage this week. -Jake Lamkins (11/5/16) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: John Salsbury DEN aircraft mechanic John Salsbury's memorial webpage is posted: http://FAL-1.tripod.com/John_Salsbury.html -Jake Lamkins (11/7/16) Prayers for his family and friends -Trish Swanson-Hawk (11/7/16) John & Shari lived in the neighborhood in Aurora when I got hired by Frontier.
