JOE O'GORMAN PRESIDENT 1985 - 1986 DEN Joe, as you know, was hired to disassemble Frontier. He ended up working with the employees and we came oh so close... He went back to UAL and helped me arrange that first fateful meeting (June 26, 1986) which ended up with UAL "buying" Frontier on July 10, 1986. Had Don Burr not illegally sold Frontier assets to UAL piecemeal, and had Mayor Pena, along with the city council, not turned their backs on us, things would have been vastly different. I ended up liking ol' Joe even with the UAL debacle. It was Richard Ferris and his henchman, David Pringle, who raped and murdered our special little airline... -Billy Walker (8/13/02) Joe O'Gorman died saturday of a massive heart attack at the age of 59. Guess we all remember him and his group. Judie sent me the information about Joe after she received it from Mary Cuthbertson. It's a shame that Joe was only 59 though. -Clyde Hart (8/13/02) Just received a short note from Roger Sorensen - current city manager for the new Frontier in SFO. Said he read in a paper that Joe O'Gorman died of a heart attack in RNO - he was 59. -Red Barringer (8/17/02) Joe came to FL in April 1985 after Hank Lund resigned. He resigned on Jan 30, 1986 and subsequently took a VP position at UA. -Jake Lamkins (9/26/10) Subject: Updated memorial webpage JOE O'GORMAN PRESIDENT APR85 - JAN86 DEN http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Joe_OGorman.html Several items added to Joe's page. He held quite a presence when he walked into a room and was one of the most respected leaders at UA. Donna Coover Bennett Rip (5/18/20)
