Karen's mother, JoAnn Colbert also worked for FL for a few years, she was an aircraft cleaner in STL.
Karen was actually one of those people that was hired after she graduated from an 'airline school'.
One of those schools that used to teach ticketing and such.

She is not on the May 1986 list.

She is not on the Aug 1990 FL Roster
so I will assume she left in 1985
until more info is received.
Her eulogy says she worked until 1979
so I am assuming she was on FUR status until 1985.

JoAnn was the mother of STL TCA Karen Allen
who was married to STL SSA Wiley Allen.

Sad to hear of JoAnn's passing. 
I saw her at the last STL reunion in 2006. 
She was friendly and did a good job and was well thought of around the station. 
Would have made it to the funeral home in Festus if we had known in time. 
RIP JoAnn.
