We worked together (inspected) often and I never heard him say a bad word about anyone. He was always easy going and kept his mind on what he was inspecting. Well, at 81 the years are catching up with me too but those wonderful years at Frontier remain in my memories. -Ed Huss (6/20/07) J E MILLER DEN mechanic DOB 1/27/32 DOH 9/8/58 per the Feb 1960 FL Roster. ----------------------------------------------------------------- J MILLER Aircraft mechanic seniority date of 9/8/58 MED Lead inspector seniority date of 11/17/65, MED He was #1 in inspector seniority per the May 1986 FL/IAM Seniority List. ----------------------------------------------------------------- J E MILLER Emp# 05722, DENQC Address in Ft. It appears there are two Jim Millers in maintenance at FL. One flew west in 1992 and the other was at a maintenance gathering last year. Can anyone verify there were two Jim Millers or is the flight west in error? Here's a 1971 article about him. Any info appreciated. -Jake Lamkins (2/15/16) The Jim Miller in the picture was the inspector that passed in 1992. -Dick Bennett (2/15/16) Thank you for the positive ID, Dick. I'm attaching the another article from May 1962. Is this the same Jim Miller? -Jake Lamkins (2/15/16) That is the same guy. Thanks for doing all that you do. -Dick Bennett (2/15/16) I'm Ray Duckett and I live in Owasso, OK. When Frontier and Central Airline merged, Jim Miller was an Inspector at that time. Since an Inspector was a premium job, I assumed he had quite a bit of seniority at that time. He lived on a farm and raised some wheat north of Denver. When Frontier started the Lead Inspector classification he got one of those jobs. About 1972 or 1973 I was working in the prop shop. There was a Jim Miller in there that was considerably younger. He told me he was no kin to the Jim Miller who was an inspector. After I bid back to line maintenance I did not keep up with the Jim Miller in the prop shop, but since I never saw him in line maintenance I assume he stayed in the aircraft overhaul side because I would see him occasionally when I was at the hanger. That must be the other Jim Miller that you mentioned. -Ray Duckett (2/16/16) I just checked with Harold Ruppel's wife and she is fairly certain the Jim Miller that Harold Ruppel worked with passed away around 1992, so it sounds like the flight west is not in error. -Bill Buse (Harold Ruppel's stepson) (2/16/16) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West - Jim Miller DEN lead inspector Jim Miller's memorial webpage has been upgraded: http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Jim_Miller1.html Moved to a non-ad website and updated. Still need an obituary for Jim. There were two Jim Millers in DEN maintenance. The other is still with us. -Jake Lamkins (2/16/16)
