Later............... -Jim Bogan (9/11/04) 1st of all THANKS to all of you for your thoughts and prayers while I was in the hospital. I was discharged last Sat. During my stay I had 4 surgical procedures in 3 days. I have lost 28 Lbs and now weigh 190. I will be on dialysis 3 days a week @ a local clinic. Please say a thank you prayer for my recovery!! -Jim Bogan (3/1/06) This is Amy, Jim's daughter - We just wanted to let you know my dad is back in the hospital. We found out last Monday (11/27) he had developed vascular disease in his legs and he was getting no circulation of blood to his right foot. Yesterday, Friday (12/1), he had his right leg amputated below the knee. He came thru the surgery w/ no complications or problems. He is in ICU now, but should be moved to a regular room sometime today. His spirits are relatively high, but the real work is yet to come. He will be in the hospital for the next 3-4 days and then will be moved to a Rehabilitation Center for the next few weeks. He is at Banner Medical Good Samaritan hospital in Phoenix. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you and God Bless! -Amy Bogan (12/2/06) Posted at the FL Club: Jim Bogan ailing If you ever worked DEN station, you probably remember Jim. "Things are going quite slow. The easiest physical therapy really tires him out. His appetite is still marginal. He may be transferred to another physical therapy place. This will be the second move. We really want him to get so he can move easily from the bed to his wheel chair or his motorized scooter chair." -Frank Monheiser (12/19/06) I thought of "Bogan U" and his smile when I read the e-mail. Jim was the Manager for Stations Services Training. His department did all of the ramp agent and weight and balance training for DEN. I also worked with him on the "Flight Plan for Tomorrow" program during the time just prior to PeopleExpress taking over. We have lost a gentleman and dear friend. -Jim Meade (8/9/07) Subject: In Memory and Honor of Jim Bogan James E. Bogan passed away peacefully in Phoenix, Arizona on August 7, 2007. Jim was fondly known as "Pop Pop" to his grandchildren and "The Boss" his family and close friends. Jim was born July 23, 1943, in Cheyenne,Wyoming, to J. Edward and Ruth J. Bogan, both of Cheyenne. Jim's main passion in life was airplanes and flying. His dream was to be a pilot, unfortunately, that was not to be, however, he did the next best thing and had a long lasting, successful career in the airline industry starting in 1963. Jim's love of life and the gift of helping all he came into contact with will be sorely missed. The amount of people he met in his life and the magnitude of the impact and impression he left on people will be hard to match. Jim always took care of his own, before himself. Up until the end, his concern was with his family. We will all miss his smile and laughter and the way his eyes twinkled when he was up to no good! All who met him know he left a piece of himself embedded in their hearts to remind them to strive for what they dream and believe in, to help others when it's needed and give encouragement to anyone who was feeling down. Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara Bogan, son Kevin Bogan and granddaughter, MacKenzie Bogan, son, Brian Bogan, his wife Bobbie Jo Bogan, and grandsons James and Benjamin Bogan, daughter Amy Bogan and granddaughter, Jordyn East-Bogan, also his brother Tom Bogan and his family and his sister Carol Hall and her family. If you would like to do something in honor of Jim's life, please, make a donation to the National Diabetes Foundation or the Salvation Army. There will be a celebration of Jim's life @ a later date to be held in Arvada, Colorado. We will send out notification once plans have been completed. Jim's family is putting together a memory book and if anyone would like to share a funny thought or story concerning Jim, or anything you would like to say about Jim, please, e-mail it Bogie9202@aol.com. -Frank Monheiser forwarded (8/9/07) My condolences and sympathy to Jim's family. I worked with him in Denver with Frontier Airlines. He was always so professional in all he did! I put out a Frontier newsletter and manage the Frontier website at the weblink below. I will be making a memorial webpage later for Jim. It will be at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Jim_Bogan.html If you have anything you want on it, just let me know. Sincerely, -Jake Lamkins FL station agent 1964-86 (8/10/07) Per Barbara, (Jim Bogan's wife), I am forwarding her e-mail of Jim's passing. We were working on 9-11 cargo security issues and Jim's name came up. We had a great talk on the phone about the old FL days. His training program was one of the best I ever had with any of the many airline programs I have been through.. As the Sr. Agent at DENOO doing weight and balance, we put much of the training to work every day. Thanks for keeping up the website. Best regards. -Mike White (9/16/07) Jim Bogan was a marvelous asset in Station Training because he taught what he very successfully performed as a Station Agent. -Bob Pearson (11/22/07) Thank you for the invitation to the Frontier picnic. I will be unable to attend. Jim passed away in August,2007, after a long illness. I'm sure he'll be looking in on all of you. He has been around us all the time. So, if you see some unexplained pennies around the area, know that he is around. The Frontier family meant a lot to him. Most of the Frontier memorbilia Jim had accumulated over the years, The family and I donated them to the Pima Air Museum in Tuscon, AZ. They are planning a display of the 'old' Frontier. I was so glad that a bygone era was going to be displayed and honoring all the Frontier family. If anyone is interested for information about the display at PimaAir, the e-mail address for the person I contacted is JStemm@pimaair.org. Have a great time. Sincerely, -Barbara Bogan (6/11/08) FLacebook - FL Club DEN manager-station training Jim Bogan's memorial webpage has been updated. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Jim_Bogan.html Several items added to Jim's page. -Jake Lamkins (9/20/14) Jim was a very good man. -Joe Barker (9/20/14) I remember working with Jim. And yes he was great guy! -Mark Dooley (9/20/14) Thanks so much for keeping these updated - I worked closely with Jim in the training dept., and I hadn't seen the tribute. Thanks for your hard work keeping the memories alive for us. -Shirley A. Mitchell (9/21/14) Jim Bogan also worked for Braniff II as Mgr of Ramp and Operations, 1988-89 @ MCI. -Ken Edmondson (9/21/14) Very nice guy. -Steve Johnson (9/21/14) I didn't know that Jim had passed. What a great man he was. He treated everyone well. After leaving FL in late 85, I did quite a few things until the airline junkee syndrome set in. I worked for Piedmont Commuter back east until US Air came in and canned us. The very next day, I went to work for Braniff 2 and went to Kansas City for training. It was a pleasant surprise when I was picked up in a van and there was Jim, I think he was driving the van. I can't recall who, but there was another ex-FL agent in the van too. -Bill Hoermle (9/24/14) I worked for Jim Bogan at Braniff II, and I remember Bill Hoermle. I can't for the life of me remember the two other Frontier fellows who were also Shift Managers at BN II with me. Jim Bogan was Manager of Ramp and Operations. One was stocky built and the other was slight of build and I can see their faces but their name sure elude me. I'll see if I can figure out their names. All three were from Denver.... -Ken Edmondson (9/24/14)
