JAY SHAH 1978 - 1980 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC DEN Hello and thanks for the website. If possible could you revise the page to include Jay Shaw. He was the mechanic that was killed on the Denver ramp. -Bill Blackerby (2/1/02) Is Jay the mechanic who was run over by the provisioning truck? If so, do you recall when that happened? -Jake Lamkins (2/2/02) Never heard back from Bill but further investigation showed: His last name was SHAH and date of hire was 4/24/78 per Ken Schultz' records and the SSDI. He is shown on Ken Schultz death database. Jay was killed Feb. 13, 1980 when struck by a provisioning truck on the DEN ramp at night. The driver didn't see him and thought he had run over a sack of mail or a bag. Later, the provisioning agent had a nervous breakdown over the tragedy. Frontier modified all ramp uniforms to include flourescent stripes after that to prevent another accident. -Jake Lamkins (2/10/02) In Memoriam Jay Shah, aircaft technician in Denver, February 13.
