My Son sent you his obituary to run in your Frontier News. We appreciate you letting all his friends at Frontier know of his passing. I also got an e-mail back from you asking for any pictures of my Dad. I'm sorry for being so late getting these back to you and realize you may have already put out his obituary in the newsletter. But here are a few pictures of his retirement party in Denver in 1985 and a picture from an article in the Frontier Magazine in November 1981 edition. Feel free to use them in your newsletter as you see fit. My wife just came in after I sent you the pictures of my Dad and said I should have asked if my mother could have a copy of the newsletter sent to her with Dad's information in it. Please let me know by e-mail the charge for this. -Alan Lowe (1/19/03) Hello Alan, Penny had gotten your dad a subscription to the newsletter last year. The other agent is Jim Meade, presently in MCO and Hank. -Frank Monheiser (1/23/03) Glen & Herschel photo posted at FL Club: Love that picture, Jake! Thanks so much for posting it! Both those guys were really great to work with! -MoJo Muller (1/26/03) Lt. George Owens was with the crew of D. J. Stuke on 18/3/44 when killed. Lt Dort Payne flew as navigator on this crew for a while after Owens was lost. Lt Farcht flew last mission as CP on June 2, 1944, He then took over Lt Martin Rumley's Crew in June 1944. Lt William Cherry took over Navigator duties on May 31, 1944 mission to Osnabruck and T/Sgt H. P. Lowe (from the original crew of Lt Herb Alf) took over as Toggelier. His family erred in saying he started in 1954 - he's not listed in 1954 on the 1/1/55 seniority list. I have been unable to find a copy of the Winter 1984 SPLASHER SIX magazine in which Herschel's WWII service is related. -Jake Lamkins (2/14/08) The term "togglier" was used for personnel that were not necessarily Bombardiers, who upon a signal from the lead ship Bombardier would "toggle" the switch to drop their bomb load. Thus these "toggliers" did not individually perform the procedures and calculations to place the bombs over the target but only performed a mechanical function to release their bomb load based upon the efforts of the lead Bombardier to put the group over the target. -http://www.armyairforces.com/forum/m_6956/tm.htm (2/14/08) H P LOWE DEN station agent Per the Nov 1956 employees roster. --------------------- H P LOWE Notation says Herschel Emp# 5335 STJ station agent DOB 3/27/21 DOH 12/17/55 Per the Feb 1960 employees roster. --------------------- H P LOWE Emp# 5338 MKC station agent DOB 3/27/21 DOH 12/17/55 Per the Dec 1970 employees roster. --------------------- H P LOWE Emp# 5338 Station agent seniority date of 12/17/55, #50 Per the Jul 1984 station agents seniority list. --------------------- H P LOWE Emp# 5338 DEN station agent Per the Nov 1984 employees roster. -Jake Lamkins (7/13/22) FLacebook FLIGHT WEST UPDATE Frontier Memorial Webpage HERSCHEL LOWE 1955 - 1985 STATION AGENT GJT DEN STJ MKC http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Herschel_Lowe.html Post your remembrances of him. -Jake Lamkins (7/13/22) Fred Watson R.I P.
