He's 8th on the FL Oldest Deceased List and #1 station agent. Need a pic of Harry. Post your remembrances. How may remember where GEY was? Challenger Airlines started service there Jun 10,1947. -Jake Lamkins (5/14/11) Here's a picture of my dad, Harry Herbert Werbelow: DOB 1913 DOD 2009 If you think of it let me know when you posted on the website. My dad is the one in glasses being pinned. If you need a different picture to work with, let me know and I'll send a different one. Love the work that you have done on the website!!! -Karen Werbelow Williams (3/8/21) Karen, Thank you so much for the pic of your dad. I need to update his memorial webpage anyway and I'll add it. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Harry_Werbelow.html I'll email you when I finish it. -Jake Lamkins (3/9/21) I also have one of my dad driving the cargo cart if you would like it dated 1971 at the Cody, WY Airport.. You mentioned if anyone remembers Gey - Gey must be abbrev. for Greybull FAL station in Wyoming. Of course I remember it, I was born there lol. Great little community then and if you would ask the old timers that are living there today, they would say the same. Population 1981 (2019 census) Thanks for your speedy reply to my email. -Karen Werbelow Williams (3/8/21) Hi Karen, Oh yes, send me the cart pic and any others you think might fit on his webpage. The pic you sent looks to be Oct 1961 when Harry got his 10 year anniversary pin. The fellow presenting it to him is Harvey Barnard, vice president of operations. Those old airport codes are still stuck in my memory after all these years. But don't ask me what I had for supper last night. -Jake Lamkins (3/11/21) You make me laugh. It's good to wake up in the morning laughing. I am working on dad's bio and I'm going to post it on Find a Grave when I'm done. I am asking my mom about the agent's name you mentioned pinning my dad. I don't recognize that name but then my mom has a better memory than I do even though she's 97 years old. How did you know that the picture I sent you was 1961 and dad's 10 year pinning. I’m not questioning your memory I just am astounded at how much information you have on your website and then you remember the year of a picture I sent you. That's amazing to me. -Karen Werbelow Williams (3/12/21) I'm glad I gave you a laugh - that's good medicine. Doing things Frontier for 20+ years has caused me to develop some detective skills. We got our pins in 5 year increments and your dad started in 1951. It is not his 1956 pin because the route map in back did not become effective until 1959 when we won some new routes into Nebraska. It's not his 1966 pin because the fellow pinning him left the company in 1962. Ergo, it is Oct 1961, the 10th anniversary of your dad's employment. I recognized Harvey from other photos I have of him. He lived into his 90s like Harry. Now you know my secret. -Jake Lamkins (3/12/21) FLacebook Frontier Memorial Webpage Updated HARRY WERBELOW 1951 - 1978 STATION AGENT GEY COD http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Harry_Werbelow.html His daughter sent a photo of him.
