Lawrence 1921 - 2015 Mary Evelyn (Kruzick) Lawrence, 94, of Aurora, CO, died peacefully on April 1, 2015, at Western Hills Health Care in Lakewood. She was born January 10, 1921, in Woodward, Iowa, to Casimir and Josephine Kruzick, both from Croatia. Mary graduated from Des Moines' East High School, in 1938, and the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Chicago in 1944. Mary practiced nursing in Chicago in 1944. She then moved to Denver to work at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center Hospital in 1945, where she met her husband to be, George P. Lawrence, a U. S. Navy pilot wounded in WWII. Mary and George were married on September 1, 1945 in Sampson, New York. They soon returned to Aurora, Colorado where Mary was a homemaker and George worked for Frontier Airlines. Mary is preceded in death by her husband George, son George Jr., her parents, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her son Tom Lawrence, grandson Elliot Lawrence, and her sister Theresa (Kruzick) Schneider, all of Denver. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary's name, may be made to Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Aurora, CO. No services. Internment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery with her husband, George.
