Burial was in Fort Logan National Cemetery. Born Sept. 13, 1918, in Vona, he married Sylvia Krauth in 1936. She preceded him in death. Mr. Bowers was a graduate of Stratton High School and worked as a stationary engineer for Frontier Airlines, Caterpillar Tractor and the city and county of Denver. He fought with the 27th Infantry during World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Janet Fenton of Wasilla, Ark., and Charaye Mathiesen of Lakewood; a son, George Bowers II of Wheat Ridge; one brother, R.R. of Illinois; and six grandchildren.
