I just found out that Gene Cometa died in 2012 of pancreatic cancer at Lake Havasu City, AZ.  
I worked with Gene after he left DEN and came to PHX and then to TUS.  
He also worked in Orange County for FL as a mechanic.  
I don’t know the particulars about his hire date, but he worked until the very end, as did many of us. 
The picture that IS on the memorial page is the way that I remember him.  
I don’t have any other pictures…….sorry.

Gene Cometa passed to his Father‘s home. 
Gene was a C123 crew chief in the U.S. Air Force. 
He worked with Paul Vasconi and Josh Eiting on the C123 on Saturdays 
with a loyal group that loves restoring the C123.

I have many fond memories of spending time with Gene and his Family. 
My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family and for all who knew him like I did. 
I will miss him.
