I was in DEN reservations from 1980 until closure in 1986. My father, Gary Craven, was a captain for FL. He started in 1968 until the closure. Went on to work for CO until he retired in 1996. He passed away August 1 in Denver at the age of 82. He was extremely proud to fly for FL and one of his fondest memories was being the captain on Emily Howell's first flight. He would have loved being part of this FB page. Looking forward to reconnecting. -Lorrie Craven Tarr (3/7/19) G L CRAVEN Pilot seniority date of 1/29/68 Per the Sep 1, 1986 FL/ALPA Seniority List. -Jake Lamkins (3/18/19) Gary & I flew together many times. He always exhibited a pleasant demeanor. He'd get tickled telling a joke and I'd have to wait until he gathered himself to tell the punchline. Gary was a fine airman - nice and smooth on the controls. If he showed up for one of my flights I knew it would be a good day. He was one really TERRIFIC fellow! -Billy Walker (3/20/19) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Gary Craven DEN pilot Gary Craven's memorial webpage is posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Gary_Craven.html Post your remembrances of him. -Jake Lamkins (3/20/19) Prayers for his family and friends. -Trish Swanson-Hawk (3/20/19) This is a picture of the fly over in honor of Dad's service. He passed one year ago tomorrow. When I was back home visiting in Colorado I took a picture of his wings. Some beautiful ones in there. While furloughed one time with FL he flew for Aspen Airways. As a child those were my favorite wings!! -Lorrie Craven Tarr (7/31/19) Such a wonderful Upbeat Captain! Made every trip so much better! Will be missed Gary -Patty Hughes Smith (7/31/19) He was a sweet guy to fly with! -Crystal Rush (9/18/19) Crystal, thank you for saying that! -Lorrie Craven Tarr (9/18/19) Nice guy. -Lisa Kerr Zeman (9/18/19) When my father, who I never heard a cuss word come out of his mouth, put on his Continental pilot’s uniform he flipped himself off in the mirror. I know it was him he was doing it to but the fact that all of this happened. Such a very difficult time for him and all of us that loved our FLamily. Life wasn’t the same. -Lorrie Craven Tarr (12/29/19)
