In June '03 my wife & I attended our high school reunion in N. Ft. Worth.
I was enjoying a cool drink of water while my wife was talking to old friends.
I noticed someone had sat down next to me.
Lo & behold if it wasn't Fred Walsh from DEN.
The banquet was the next night at Will Rogers coliseum in FTW.
Fred attended it also.
He graduated the same school in 1937.
Fred has always been one of my favorite people.

Fred Walsh was Central. 
He was a line foreman when I arrived in 55.
The first time I ever saw Fred  was in 1953 I believe. 
I was flying a cub around Ft. Worth and landed at an old airport east of Ft Worth. 
The weather was rotten and I thought I'd better find a place to squat for a spell; 
so I picked this little postage stamp. 
We tied her up went inside out of the rain and jawed for a spell; 
after it quit raining I took off and headed for south Ft. Worth and  put her up;  
enjoyed talking with Fred. Never put eyes on him till 55 when I hired in.

Brady phoned to let me know Fred Walsh 
who lives in California had a heart attack but was recovering.
He is now 78 and goes to lots of doctors.

Just received word that Fred Walsh passed away last Tuesday. Sept. 5th, in the San Diego area.
He had moved to Carlbad, CA last spring. 
There is to be a memorial service in Fort Worth or Dallas this week. 
I have no info on this. Maybe some one in the Dallas area could give us an update.

Fred passed away September 5, 2006 in San Diego, CA.
His Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 16, at 11:30 am at
Greenwood Funeral Home,  3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, TX,
(817) 336-0584.  Further information will be forwarded soon.

The Obituary for Fred Walsh is in the 9-13-2006, Ft. Worth News-Telegram and in the Denver Post.
Fred started to work for Central Airlines December 7, 1949, at (FTW) Meacham Field as a mechanic.
At Central Airlines he was;  Mechanic, Crew Chief, Foreman, Asst. Director of Maintenance.
After the merger Oct 1, 1967.
For Frontier Airlines:
He was a Foreman at GSW.
In Denver, he was a Foreman, General Foreman, Mainenance Planner 
and Manager of Technical Training until the shutdown Aug.1986.
