I sent him a friend request a few days ago and invited him to the FL group, but he doesn't appear to be very active here on FB. -Gary Wingert (3/22/14) Frank.. Good to hear from an old friend. I've been to a few reunion picnics over the years but can't say I have seen you there. I didn't even know you also work at United. I've had a long 27 year plus career now at United. I'm a mechanic here in SFO. Hope all is well. I'm still a Bronco fan too. -Warren VanderGalien (5/12/14) Roger Greenlee hired me in 1977 - Rock Springs, Wyo. -Frank Lummie (6/6/16) FLacebook messenger Hi Jake, word is trickling out that Frank Lummie has passed away, perhaps in a car accident. His son, David Lummie, has a brief post, as did Frank's friend, Henry McClendon. Judi first told me about it and said she read a post about the auto accident, but we can't find the post from Frank's daughter. -Gary Wingert (3/23/20) Thanks, Gary, let me know if you hear more. -Jake Lamkins (3/23/20) Frank's Facebook page: Donna Kelly Cousin Frankie how I already miss you and you just left us to go to Heaven! I lost my favorite person in the world, my dad, Frank Lummie. I wish I could go to one more baseball game, one more bar, and lose one more hand of black jack with you. It's so sad:( -Judi Fenton Pumer (3/25/20) My father-in-law, Frank Lummie, passed away this weekend. And while the shock has finally subsided, the full weight and grief of the tragedy has settled in. From taking me to my first Rockies game to being the man who always brought his grandkids cookies on a regular basis, I had the privilege of seeing many sides of Frank. I'm happy to have my memories and stories to share about him. We have received so much love and support it's almost overwhelming. We are working on the obituary right now, however due to the coronavirus chaos, we aren't able to have a regular service. It will just be a graveside service immediate family, however we are going to plan a memorial down the road when things settle down. If you would like to pass along any of our information to his frontier colleagues, please feel free.. Due to the sudden and unexpected funeral costs, we have set up a go fund me. Frank was a funny, great guy and an average poker player, what more could you want from a friend? I am going to miss you, Frank RIP... -Mark Fitzwater (3/29/20) All my memories of Frank from Frontier Airlines involve laughter. He had a wicked sense of humor and could make me laugh like no one else. Even during emergencies, blizzards, irate mobs of disconnected passengers. What a bright light he was!! I reconnected with him at a Frontier reunion a few years ago and started a Facebook friendship. I send love and comfort to all his family - his love for you was immeasurable! With sympathy, -Shirley Mitchell (4/29/20) Frank & I worked at Frontier together for almost ten years. Early on when we had just started with the airline, we were sitting in a piano bar in Las Vegas and the pianist asked if we had any requests. I said "Rhapsody in Blue." She played it to perfection, we clapped and I got up to leave. Frank says, "You aren't going to tip her?" I thought she would be gratefully someone had asked her to play something other than "Piano Man." Frank pulls a $10 out and puts it in her tip jar. That is when I realized what a truly generous and all round good guy Frank was. Says Frank's buddy with the short arms and deep pockets - I will miss you friend. -Mark Fitzwater (4/29/20) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Frank Lummie DEN senior station agent Frank Lummie's memorial webpage is posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Frank_Lummie.html Post your remembrances of him. -Jake Lamkins (3/30/20) Worked with him in Den & Lex... Last year he even came out to Philly to celebrate. It’s going to be difficult, weird and sad without him this year. But, just in the nick of time (so Frank-like), baseball is back, and it’s back on my birthday. I don’t often get a lot of those moments where you’re supposed to “feel” your loved one around, or even have too much faith in them “watching over”, but I do know that this would be one hell of a coincidence. Thanks for the birthday gift, dad - LETS GO METS!
