FRANK HOFFMANN 1961 - 1986 PILOT, REGIONAL DIRECTOR-FLIGHT OPERATIONS (BIL) BIL DEN I know that Captain Frank Hoffman has been dealing with some tough health issues for some time. Apparently, things have become worse. Moments ago, I had a call that told me Frank was in Hospice care and given just days. I have not been able to corroborate this but sadly suspect it is so. If you know anything, please share. -Billy Walker (6/27/17) I'm sad to report that my earlier message was valid. Dennis Lacy called as did Lois Appleby to update me. Jim and Lois along with Stan Peters were at the Denver Hospice. Frank is sedated and weak. He seems to recognize people but the communication is largely absent. Dennis said that he spent a couple of hours with Frank last week. They were at the airport where both have hangars. At the time Frank was positive and looking forward to restoring an ol' Tri-Pacer. Life has a way of altering our plans. ...Prayers are the order of the day. Anyone who has known Frank, knows he's a Hell of a pilot and a Hell of a guy. Don't drag your heels if you want to pay Frank a visit. Hospice is not a place where you get well from, but you do get a nice sendoff for your next flight. Nothing but Tailwinds Frank! -Billy Walker (6/27/17) I did get by to see Frank Hoffman this afternoon. Sandy was already there, along with Frank's wife (Connie). After a while, his two daughter-in-laws came in, along with a neighbor of Franks' and his wife. Denver Hospice has a beautiful facility, at Lowry. Frank's sons, were out looking into the beautiful RV that Frank built. His flying son is about to inherit it and it's a great plane for the wonderful Florida flying environment where they live. You can talk to Frank, in between his dozing. The hospice staff are pretty special folks. Frank seems to be resting comfortably. That's about it for now. Stay well my friends! -Spencer Mamber (6/28/17) Capt. Frank Hoffman flew West today at 4:30. He was with family and friends. A great guy, a long time friend, he will be missed. -Billy Watkins (7/16/17) My understanding from Frank's sons is there will be no services (Frank's wishes) but a celebration of life in Frank's airplane hanger at some point. There will be ample notification. -Billy Watkins (7/23/17) Regarding Frank Hoffmann, there will be no funeral/memorial. There will be a party held at his hangar at the Front Range Airport in the future to celebrate Frank's life. This information came from the Sons, relayed to Bill Watkins. -Bonnie Dahl (7/25/17) This is the latest on Capt. Frank Hoffman.
