FLOYD HOYT 1968 - 1986 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR DEN I went to the memorial service and was surprised to see many old FAL mechanics and management there. Wally worked for Frontier for about 8 years and for United for 17 years, retiring about a year ago. There were 50-75 people there, most of whom were in United maintenance. There were more FAL people there than I have seen for some time at an old FAL service. A lot of mechanics have retired and moved back to the area, most went to work for UPS, US AIR, FEDEX, etc. Don Burbank, who is a regional manager for UAL is based in VA., Sam Pierce- retired from UAL, Leo Schuster, Dallas Mortensen, Gary Trujillo, Tom Willey, Carl Willmann, Floyd Hoyt (he contacted the west nile virus-lost a lot of weight, and just about didn’t make it) Bob Keifer, Pete Salli, A. J. Uttlefield and several others. I talked to John Kosmicki last week and he said that Warren Brindley moved back to Indianapolis last summer, where his wife is from. I also talked to Joe Aguirre. His wife died last year and then his son John had a stroke so he is staying with Joe. I haven’t talked to George Furden since Jon Bartram retired from the new Frontier a year or so ago. I saw Wayne Elliott last spring and he gave me some of his old FAL materials. I haven’t had any contact with Steve or Pam since John and Pauline’s anniversary party. -Ken Schultz (12/16/04) After the bankruptcy I went to work for CAL in Denver for 17 months. Then went to work for UPS as aircraft line maintenance manager in Louisville, KY for 19 months. Then transferred to Denver as maintenance manager until I got the West Nile in 2003. And went on disability until 2007 and retired from UPS. -Floyd Hoyt (6/9/08) FYI: Passing of Floyd Hoyt (Frontier Airlines retiree) Floyd Hoyt passed away yesterday Monday 25, 2015. Butch goes to the Mechanic Breakfast once a month (when he can) and Floyd would also go. We went to the funeral and saw quite a few of Butch's co workers. -Sandy & Butch Schara (6/5/15)
