ED STONE 1973 - 1981 STATION AGENT, STATION MANAGER, SPECIAL ASSISTANT-AIR FREIGHT SERVICE, MANAGER-AIR CARGO SALES ISN FAR DEN Just got the news this morning and don't have any details yet. Ed Stone, one time GFK Manager, passed away at home in PHX. He was 55 years old. Cause of death was probably a heart attack but that is to be determined. When he was in GFK he was the youngest station manager on the system. He is survived by a wife and two children. If I hear more, I'll certainly contact you. -Mimi Buckstead McCartney (8/29/05) Thanks, Mimi! FL started service to FAR-GFK in Nov. of 76. also Ed Stone was the manager at FAR not GFK, If I remember correctly he came in Aug of 76 and was there a little over a year and D. McCauley took over. -Bruce Osborne (2/9/09) Do you recall where Ed Stone came from to FAR and where he went afterwards? I cannot find out much about him. Was he a station agent at one time? Anything would help. -Jake Lamkins (2/10/09) He was the manager at ISN and than came to FAR, from there he went with Airborne, if I recall correctly. -Bruce Osborne (2/10/09) Ed Stone FAR Station Manager Per Nov 1977 FL Quick Reference Directory. Dan McCauley is FAR Station Manager in the Nov 1978 QRD and Ed Stone is not shown in any position so he may have left the company. -Jake Lamkins (2/10/09) E C STONE Station agent seniority date of 4/29/73, emp# 11513, on the 1/1/74 FL/ALEA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (2/10/09) My name is Janel Hutton and my father was Ed Stone. He's not in the Dec 1979 or Jan 1982 QRDs. -Jake Lamkins (7/27/12) FLacebook Preston Harland I started with FL in Williston when we went back in the fall of 1974 I believe. Ed Stone was the manager and I was the Station Agent. That was it. Thinking back on it the back room was so small I doubt that we could have staffed a 3rd employee. Use to send the load reports on an old teletype. When it was really cold you could hear the Twin Otter take off from Wolf Point on it's way to ISN.
