DOTTIE KREIDER ELFERS 1966 - 1984 FLIGHT ATTENDANT DEN D KREIDER FA seniority date of 11/20/66 on the 2/1/81 FL/AFA seniority list. She is not on the 2/1/86 list. -Jake Lamkins (5/31/08) Dottie Kreider Elfers was in FA school with me and we were good friends along with Joanie Fohn. They gave me baby showers and they were just always special. Dottie quit and was a zoo keeper at Denver zoo until she met and married John Elfers, a former TWA pilot who started dental school after being furloughed about 6 times. They live in Rock Springs WI.. Lost touch with her but had a lucky call one day at work, and the lady listing 2 large Newfoundland dogs in cargo. I was curious and said I used to fly with the old Frontier and a friend of mine also a FA raised and trained those beauritful water dogs. The lady said I know who that is...it is Dottie Kreider..I about jumped through the phone lines. I was so excited to know she knew how to get in touch with Dottie..so we reconnected after about 10 years. Dottie is 5 yrs into remission after a 2nd battle with breast cancer. If you remember her, she was not very big to begin with.. She raises horses in WI and came to Monument CO the end of April to bring a couple of her horses to her sister. We had a great afternoon, chasing around with her horses and had lunch..just getting caught up. We email now and when I do the 2 day Avon Breast Cancer walk this June 28 and 29 I wear her name on my shirt..She is very strong and a real fighter. but she says the chemo took so much out of her she probably wont be back 100%.. but positive for every day she has and so far so good. -Rosie Wirth VanEpps (6/1/08) Dottie was in the flight attendant class of November 16, 1966. She was a great person. -Carol Conrad (2/27/18) Dottie was a wonderful individual who had a special empathy for animals... she & I graduated in the same training class in '66. She was a wonderful support to me just lately in my quest for wellness. RIP! Dottie. I miss you much! -Ada Gehman (2/27/18) I will always remember her wonderful laugh and her positive attitude. She loved her pets. She was a Denver Debutante but didnt want to talk about that. she was a wonderful cook, and horticulturist. If you wanted to know how to do anything..Ask Dottie. I was a docent at the zoo while Dottie worked there. One funny day we agreed to meet for lunch. I found her in the back room preparing the bowls of food for some of the reptiles and felines. I can still see her taking a bite of her sandwich then back to her task of making special diets for her subjects. We laughed and laughed as I lost my appetite very quickly. I will miss her beautiful blue eyes and am honored to have known her. She was one fine lady. -Rosemary Wirth VanEpps (2/28/18) Dottie lived around the street from Rod and I in Aurora, Colo She was a truly kind sweet lady with a huge giving heart. My thoughts and prayers to her family ?? -Diane Wright Smith (2/28/18) I first met Dottie in 1963 when I went to spend my Spring Break from U of Oregon with my high school best friend who was attending CU. Dottie was her roommate or at least lived in same dorm. Then it was so fun when she & I both ended up flying for Frontier. She was a remarkable person. -Kathleen Dionne (2/27/18) I couldn't agree more with all of the nice comments said. Dottie was always positive and a delight to work with. ...... -Roberta Karr (2/28/18) She was so fun to fly with and I don't believe I ever heard her say a bad word about anyone. RIP -Maggie Podunovich (2/28/18) Dottie married John Elfers Jun 16, 1990. John was a six year TWA pilot who became a dentist. He died tragically the year before Dottie in a farm accident at home. Dottie's obit says she flew with Frontier 18 years so she left the company in 1984. -Jake Lamkins (3/5/18) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Dottie Kreider Elfers DEN flight attendant Dottie Kreider Elfers' memorial webpage is posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Dottie_Kreider_Elfers.html Post your remembrances of her. -Jake Lamkins (3/6/18)
