DON PLUNKETT 1954 - 1986 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT, STATION MANAGER SWO PRX GUY LIT In 1953 Don started working for Central Airlines. He continued with Frontier Airlines when they bought CN in 1967. He stayed there 33 years, mostly as a Senior Station Agent. When FL pulled out of LIT a few years before the bankruptcy, Don went to work at LITAA. He died of cancer after a hard fight. Don Plunkett, LITFL, died 10Oct98 of lung cancer & was buried 12Oct98. -Jake Lamkins (12/12/98) OBITUARY MR. DONALD GENE PLUNKETT, age 68, of Little Rock, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998. He was a beloved husband and a devoted family man. He was retired from American Airlines and formerly spent 33 years as a supervisor for Frontier Airlines. He was a Korean War veteran serving with the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Flora Helen Powers Plunkett; a daughter, Donna Boroughs, of Maumelle; two sons, Richard Earl Plunkett and Russell Wayne Plunkett, both of Little Rock; three brothers, Harold Plunkett, Lloyd Plunkett and Robert Plunkett; a sister, Rosalie Mullinex, all of Indiana; and two grandsons, Charles Nicholas and Jeremy Wayne Boroughs. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Keith Thomas officiating. Entombment will be in Rest Hills Mausoleum. Family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 11, 1998, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cancer Research or Pathfinders of Jacksonville. He was the #17 station agent at the time. -Jake Lamkins (4/6/07) New Passenger Agent Named For Central Lawrence Weeks has been named passenger service agent for Central Airlines at Cox Field here, Station Manager Jim Durham announced this week. Weeks, with Central Airlines for a year and a half, formerly was stationed at Oklahoma City. A native of Dallas, he is married and has one son, 17 months-old Dewayne. His wife, Dannie, is from New Boston. The new passenger service agent replaces Donald Gene Plunkett, who has been transferred by Central to Guymon, Okla., where he will hold a similar post. Plunkett had been in Paris for a year and a half.
