DON MARICK 1967 - 1986 PLANT MAINTENANCE MECHANIC, GROUND MECHANIC BIL DEN Well, here goes. I hired on 8-10-67 in the cleaning dept of FAL and from there went to Building Maintenance. I was the first Building Maintenance employee when the new hanger was built on Smith Road. From there I went into Ground Maintenance and was a traveling mechanic for a number of years. Then in 1977 I bid for Ground Maintenance in BIL and was here till they closed the Maintenance shop. I went back to DEN Ground Maintenance till Frontier's demise. After that I returned to Billings and bought a candy business and also had a deli & ice cream shop. Now I have a few hobbies I play at, but don't get much done as I am on oxygen all the time. -Don Marick (wife: Arky) BIL Reunion booklet, Jul 2003 I was visiting with Ron Huet the other day and he said he would like to join the alumni group. Ron was a long time station agent. I think he hired on in early 60s and was there til the end. He was at a number of stations, and was at BIL at the end. -Don Marick (3/15/04) For those of you who knew Don Marick, (Ground mechanic-DEN and BIL), just a quick note to say that he has died. I just received a phone call from Ron Huet, (who is also in the hospital recuperating from knee replacement surgery), that Don passed away about an hour ago. Details are sketchy at this point, but what is known, is that Don's lungs collapsed. He has had lung problems for years. It is suspected that he most likely died from heart failure. I'm sure that his death/obituary will be in the Billings Gazette in the next couple of days. -Darrell Robson (4/20/05) Posted at Don's online guestbook: April 22, 2005 All Don's many friends at the old Frontier Airlines extend their sympathy to Don's family for their loss. Don's obituary will be placed on our webpage: http://FAL-1.tripod.com -Jake Lamkins (West Fork, AR) ExFAL@yahoo.com (4/22/05) 2003 BIL Reunion pix In the first photo, left to right are Donna Schimetz, Donna Huet, Arclista "Arky" Marick and Don. Second photo is Don with Bob Voight. Bob Voight and I went to the luncheon today for Don. Al and I went to the funeral home last night for the visitation. -Dee Martenson (4/23/05) I'm so sorry I missed seeing this in the Gazette. I loved our old neighborhood and Arcie and Don were two reasons why. Don was always available to help out with any borrowing need (he had lots of great stuff) or to help out with any request. I think he single handedly saved us numerous times when snow drifts had blocked our driveway and he would come over with his snowplow and rescue us. I (and my family) will surely miss this wonderful man. -Ed Kaufman (5/5/05) FLacebook - FL Club BIL DEN ground mechanic Don Marick's memorial webpage has been updated: http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Don_Marick.html Moved to a non-ad website, added an item and updated the webpage. -Jake Lamkins (2/10/16) Our many hunting and fishing trips changed to Saturday card games when his health started to fade. -Ron Huet (2/11/16)
