DON BROOKS 1963 - 1980 FMN OMA DEN STATION AGENT, JAMTO AGENT, SALES REPRESENTATIVE, CARGO SALES MANAGER Donald G. Brooks, age 71, passed away October 12, 2002. Don is survived by his wife Donna who remains in their family home. He served in the U.S. Air Force and is buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Don was a Michigan native and started his airline career with Capitol Airlines in Detroit, prior to joining FL. He was with FL from 1963 until 1980, starting as a station agent in FMN (1963-65). Don spent one year in the OMA JAMTO and then enjoyed many years in DEN Cargo Sales. Norma recalls Neal Haas (Cargo Sales Manager), Jack Zembeck (Cargo Sales Director) and longtime friend from DETNW (then with FL) Hank Lund as being good and helpful friends. Norma Brooks, as Don's wife, has also been involved with the airlines for many years. She remains interested in the employees of the old FL. We remember the good times we enjoyed with Don and Norma at company parties held at the Aviation Club and other favorite locations in the Denver area. -Cal & Barb Reese, PHX (11/21/02) D G BROOKS Station agent seniority date of 5/30/63 per the 8/1/66 FL/ALEA Seniority List. ...................................................... Before I came back to Denver Don would come over to STL and help us build up the freight business and our new customers would comment on his professionalism. Wonderful man. -Art Giffin (3/22/13) Cal & I saw Don & his wife Norma several times 11 years ago. They lived just a few blocks from us. Don wasn't well but insisted on having us for dinner, easier for him than going out. We enjoyed their company. Norma & I were good friends many years ago, so had lots to catch up on. Time got away from us, I called to see how they were. She said "Barb-Don passed away. I put it in the paper so you would know." So it was in the Arizona Republic. There is only 1 paper here. She moved away & we lost touch with her. Cal & Barb Reese (4/4/13)
