Even though we had not been touch for many year, I have many happy memories of our fishing together and working together in Riverton, Wy. and Salt Lake. He was one of the finest men I've had the privilege of knowing and working with. Our sympathy goes to you, Norma, and your children. -Don Armstrong (Thayne, WY) Donald (Don) Armstrong passed away early yesterday morning Oct 1, 2013. He was 87 years old and had been in poor health for several years. About 3 weeks ago he fell down a step embankment next to their house near Thayne Wyoming and broke 7 ribs, collar bone, shoulder blade and punctured a lung and hurt his neck. Donald (Don) Richard Armstrong passed away on Oct 1, 2013 in Idaho Falls, ID. at the age of 88 years. Don had rolled some 100 feet into a ravine near his son's home near Thayne, WY. Don was with Frontier until the bitter end, having been a station agent in Riverton, Billings, Omaha, Rock Springs, and Salt Lake City. He spent 25 years with the company. Don was born July 25th, 1925 in Garland, Seward Co., Nebraska. He married Jacquelyn (Jackie) Cooley in 1949. She was with him until the end. No formal service was held. He is survived by his wife Jackie, daughter Dawn (Michael) Norton, grandson Dale (Kali) Norton, great-granddaughter Sage Norton all of Salt Lake City, and by his son Scott (Annie) Armstrong of Thayne, WY. Don was one my station agents in Rock Springs while I was Manager until FAL closed the door on us. My wife Mary and I have remained friends with Don and Jackie over all the years since. It was our intention to spend 3 -4 days with them in late September but fate changed that. We saw Don on two different days about a week before he passed away. He endured some 4 weeks in ICU before passing away. He will be greatly missed. -Jim Aschbrenner (10/16/13) Printing some of the older issues I notice the obit about Don Armstrong. He also worked in Rock Springs, he was in RKS when I got there and still there when I left. Not sure but he may have owned a small motel in RKS. -Roger Greenlee (10/31/19)
