DANA HOCH 1975 - 1986 FLIGHT ATTENDANT DEN Dana is his correct name. I think the last few years he actually went as Dane, but Dana is the real name. I was told he died. No other info at this time. No, you may keep the pic if you like. -Lanette Duncan (3/18/00) I ran into Dana several years back at either DEN or IAH. Dana and I got along pretty good and he worked my cabin several times. He is/was an exceptional flight attendant. -Clyde Hart (3/23/00) Was Dana the f/a that was getting his pilots license and was trying to get on with FL as a pilot? -Kevin Porreco (3/24/00) I also heard, a couple of years ago, that Dana passed away - not sure of the cause. Wasn't his father a Captain with United? -Roberta "Bert" Brashears (3/24/00) One of our ex-FAs still working with CO let me know that Dana did pass away a couple of years ago. She thinks he died of AIDS related causes -Ro"Bert"a Brashears (4/11/00) DANA HOCH Birth 10Apr1952 Death 23Aug1997 Age 45 At Dallas, TX 75205 -Social Security Death Index (4/13/00) The last I heard of Dana was from Henry Greathouse another FAL F/A who also lives, or at least used to live, here in HI. Henry said that Dana had AIDS and was not doing very well, so I must assume that he died of complications of the disease. Dana was really fun to fly with and a great F/A. -Donna Harrison (11/24/00) I knew Dana Hoch very well. We flew together often and were roommates for about four years. Dana and two other F/As received a Presidential Award for saving a little boy's life on a flight. The boy started choking on food and Dana and the other two F/As sprang into action. I believe this was in the late 70s or early 80s. Dana was a great person! -Ken Jensen (3/19/05) D E HOCH Flight attendant seniority date of 6/28/75 on the 2/1/86 FL/AFA seniority list. -Jake Lamkins (4/3/12) Posted at FLacebook and the FL Club: DEN flight attendant Dana Hoch's memorial webpage has been updated. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Dana_Hoch.html Several items added and moved to a non-ad site. Post your remembrances of Dana. -Jake Lamkins (4/5/12) Dana went to work with Continental in 1986. He is on the list as contributing $200 to our legal fund in order for us to get our seniority at CAL. I have CO marked by his name on my copy of FAL, Feb 1, 1986 Seniority list. And on another sheet of F/A's that went with CAL, he's listed with group based in DEN. Also I believe he was one of the first of the male F/A's to work for Frontier. I remember Dana back there scrubbing the galley walls in 1975, and we had hired Emily in 1972, and Sharon Wyatt threw the tray down and said "I liked it a lot better when the men were in the cockpit and the women were in the back!" Dana was really a good flight attendant and a nice person. But scrubbing galley walls was not in our job description. -Bonnie Dahl (4/6/12) I always looked forward to working with Dana. He was a hard worker and made every trip an adventure. -Martie Palser (4/10/12) Of the many things I loved about Dana - none more than the name he called himself. Dana Marie. He was a treasure of a friend. -Sharon Trumble (4/19/12) For those that remember FA Dana Hoch; his Mother, Agda, turned 90 years old yesterday. While only speaking Danish, she came to the US by herself in her early 20's from Denmark, met a pilot going off to fight in WWII, waited for him, and was married to him until he died in 2002. Harrold Hoch spent his career as a corporate pilot. She is extremely active, doesn't miss a beat cognitively, and has a screaming sense of humor that Dana inherited. She has been a great friend to me since I met her 6 weeks before Dana died in 1997. Miss my Dana! -Carol Bartley (8/16/13) I just adored that man. -Sharon Trumble (8/16/13) Dana was great to work with. I always thought he worked twice as hard the rest of us. I always knew when he told me I looked good he meant it. He would tell me I wasn't having my best day as well. -Martie Palser (8/17/13) Dana was one of a kind and bet his momma is as well. Thanks for posting. -Christina Bonatti (8/19/13) I spoke to Dana Hoch's Mother the other night. She is doing great and going strong! Her birthday is August 15. She will be 91 years old! I thought it would be a wonderful thing for her if each of you that loved Dana and would like to send her a card, message me and I will give you her address. It would be fun to add a picture of you and Dana, and tell a short story of a fun experience you had with him. Let me know. Thanks. -Carol Bartley (7/12/14) FLacebook - FL Club DEN flight attendant Dana Hoch's memorial webpage has been updated. http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Dana_Hoch.html Five items added but still need an obituary for Dana. -Jake Lamkins (9/30/14) Can't help but smile when I think of you Dana! -Karen Ward Berry (9/30/14) Yes, he was so much fun to fly with. And he certainly made fantastic announcements on the airplane. -Patty Benton (9/30/14) Good guy ... always always enjoyed having him on my crew .... -Phil Stallings (9/30/14) I have his Obit but it will be a while before I can post it. I talked to his Mother last night. She has had a bad month. Her close friend from Denmark died a week after she visited Agda earlier this month, and Agda's brother died in Denmark last week. Her neighbor and card partner got a horrible spinal infection that started with a bad tooth. She is in perfect health. -Carol Bartley (9/30/14) There was never, never a dull moment when Dana was around. He worked hard and he played hard - a great F/A and a great guy. -Roberta Brashears (9/30/14) Dana was always one of my favorite flight attendants to work with. Every trip was a fun adventure with him as one of the crew members. -Martie Palser (9/30/14) Dana was my first male flight attendant I flew with. Loved him immediately. With one exception....those were the days when we had to share a room and senior person got a room to themselves. Since Dana was on the trip with us, he got the room by himself... Might say he contributed to getting us all single rooms in our next contract. Could not help but love him. -Sharon Bennett Jean (9/30/14) I loved flying with Dana as has been stated never a dull moment -Christina Bonatti (9/30/14) He was a great guy -Henry Rankin (10/1/14) Great to fly with. Always made me laugh and brightened my day. -Roberta Karr (10/1/14) I will never forget the rubber-chicken O2 mask demo... -Tim Bunger (10/1/14) So many wonderful memories of Dana. Loved flying with him....the stories he could tell. -Val Vucinich (10/2/14) 63 years ago today, this true friend and lover of all things fun and funny, was born in California to a wonderful set of parents, Agda and Harold Hoch. At the time, they had no idea he would grow up to be the hard working, loving, kind Super Star that he did! Today, I want to celebrate his Birthday by finishing a pledge I made to one of Dana's good friends, the wonderful friend Karen Ward Berry to help make her a GrandMother. The pledge was to pay it forward because of the kindness of a stranger to me and my Mother a couple of weeks ago. Meanwhile, Happy Birthday Dana Hoch! You are greatly missed by so many! -Carol Bartley (4/10/15) I spoke to Dana Hoch's Mother, Agda Hoch, today. Today's her 94th Birthday. She is as funny and cognizant as a teenager. She was heading out for Lunch with her usual Friends and later having the usual card game at her house. Anyone that would like her phone number or address, please pm me. I'm sure she would love to hear a good Dana story. Next week, it will be 20 years since we lost him. ? -Carol Bartley (8/15/17) Oh gosh, that's awesome! Happy Belated Birthday, Mrs Hoch!
