CURTIS PERKINS 1968 - 1986 AIRCRAFT MECHANIC STL DEN LEX MCI Hi Jake I read in your last publication that Shorty Maxwell died in 99' at the age of 81 in PHX. Larry Miley owned a John Deere Dealership in Kansas and was killed in a forklift accident this year. John Perry is retired from AA in DFW. Roy Martin, also an automotive mechanic, is retired from CO in HOU. I understand that Wayne Stilwell is living around PHX. Lynn Kentch is retired and living in Casa Grande, AZ. Curtis Perkins went to work for UPS in Louisville and as far as I know is still there. Paul Michaud works for Fed X in Memphis. That is the ones that I know what happened to. I was in Denver, Co for 4 years. I then went to St. Louis, MO. I did get laid off and went to Chadron, NE for 1 month and then back to St. Louis, MO. I was there for 2 years. I then went to Denver, CO for 6 months on the DART program. I then went to Kanas City, MO for 1 month then went back to St. Louis, MO for 10 years. I then went to Lexington, KY for 2 years then I went to Kansas City, MO for about 2 years until Frontier closed. ON August 24, 1986 I got a call a 4am to kick the airplane out a 7am and then it was done. After that I moved my family to Kentucky. I bought my family farm. I went to work for a company that worked on UPS airplanes for 2 years. UPS took over their own maintenance. I went work for UPS in November of 1988. I retired from UPS in 2013. Now I work on my farm. I raise corn and soybeans and a little hell when things don't go right. I am going to go till I can't go and then I'm gonna go. I never worked for any company that I didn't try to save them money. Darwin had been his boss in LEX I phoned Curtis and let him know. He said he had worked in STL DEN LEX MCI -Jake Lamkins (10/12/16) Curtis phoned again. He had misplaced the phone numbers for Darwin. He told several funny stories. He said he had slept in the LEX maintenance shop for two years because he was cut out of STL and was making payments on a home there. Darwin, his boss in LEX, had let him do it. -Jake Lamkins (10/14/16) Curtis phoned about 4:30 pm and we chatted 12 minutes. Mostly swapped stories and he wanted to send some money for the newsletter. He wanted to know how much money he needed to send. Gary Mueller That is Curtis Perkins heard he went to work for UPS (6/1/20) Had a voice mail from Curtis and called him back. He didn't know who I was at first until I explained to him. He had just got his Summer issue of the newsletter. He rambled a lot and got to talking about his 50 acres of corn and the moisture content.
