I keep obits & print to take to FARPA luncheons & this one got lost. Chuck Levine had maybe another stroke, was hospitalized, won't be back at meetings. Thanks, -Bonnie Dahl (2/15/18) Hi Bonnie, Would you be so kind as to do an email blast indicating the move of Chuck Levine. He has relocated from his home to: The Inn at Greenwood Village. It is only a mile southwest of where his home was. His son Kyle has been devoted and selfless in doing what is best for his dad. A few of his nearest neighbors have also been very supportive. Chuck is having a hard time dealing with his waning cognition, but is still the nice guy he has always been known for. Thanks -Dave Poppers (8/2/22) Noticed for sale on Ebay posted at FLacebook: Looks to be pilot Chuck Levine's checklist. Anybody know how he's doing? -Jake Lamkins (11/7/22) Phone text from Bonnie Dahl on 3/27/23 I just heard from ex Flight attendant Karen Cue Akers that Chuck Levine passed away last night, 2/26/23. He was in a nursing home. Karen was involved with his estate sale. --------------------------------------- Bonnie in 2nd text an hour later His son Kyle gave the information to the group that had just did his estate sale. Thanks for letting me know. -Jake Lamkins (3/27/23) Hi Bonnie, Chuck was born February 28, 1934 and was 89 when he passed at the Inn at Greenwood Village Assisted Living, after numerous strokes gradually compromised his cognitive awareness. He was wheel chair bound for the last few years because of arthritic hips. Hip replacements were not possible as the doctors were too afraid to discontinue the blood thinners because of the strokes. I consider him the catalyst to binding many into the canoeing adventures over the years. Maintaining friends was a constant and purposeful effort of his. He never lost his warm disposition even as his life decayed as evidenced by the constant attention of neighbors and friends. A few neighbors and I were fortunate to see him a few short hours before his death. His son Kyle has been most thoughtful and responsible for overseeing his care for sometime. -Dave Poppers Bonnie - you are welcome to forward this to Jake Lamkins. (3/27/23) Thank you both for the info on Chuck. I'll use it in his memorial webpage. -Jake Lamkins (3/27/23) FLacebook messenger Chuck Levine daughter texted me and said "Chuck had passed away last night." Such a nice guy. Hundreds of Civil War era guns & memorabilia. All extraordinarily displayed. Chuck & John Winter ran the Boston Marathon together! I had to take a nap after hearing about it. The past few years have been rough for both these two FAL greats. Now, they are at peace. -Billy Walker (3/27/23) Thank you Capt. Billy and for the very kind words Capt. Poppers. "Chuck" was a fellow jogger and canoe adventurer to the Quetico Canadian wilderness. Spending the last thirty or so in east Africa and Guatemala, I haven't really been able to keep in contact. With neighbors, we shared many meals around his table. He was a huge part of the 'village' that we and our children could count on and that kept our community connected. It's hard to emphasize how much his welcoming connecting, loving, grateful smile and hugs will be missed. Lucy Herrman April 4, 2023 I had the pleasure of knowing Chuck for nearly 25 years, through Lucy Travers, who is my husband Dirk's mother. We had many wonderful times together, both at our home in Virginia when he was visiting Lucy in Maryland, as well as at his home when Lucy was staying with him. Many a Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve. Chuck was always a charming and enthusiastic person who loved good food, good times, and good people. I feel privileged to have known him. Blythe Dechenne April 4, 2023 I had the absolute pleasure of helping to care for Chuck for the last few months of his life. He was always in high sprits and his spirit lit up the entire building!! He always had a charismatic was about him and I loved hearing him say "Hellllo" while getting of of the elevator, and or anytime he saw another human being. He had/has the BEST heart of any man I have ever known. He is truly missed and will never be forgotten. I thank God for sharing Chuck with us, as long as He did. Blessings and peace to Kyle and his entire family and to everyone who loves and misses him. Dirk Herrman April 4, 2023 As Lucy Travers son, I have known Chuck for almost 25 years. He was always sweet with my mom - his Sweetheart. A gracious man who expressed joy on a daily basis. We will miss his smile. -https://www.horancares.com/obituary/CharlesChuck-Levine (4/7/23 C A LEVINE Emp# 05220 DEN first officer DOB 2/28/34 DOH 3/11/63 Per the Dec 1970 employees roster.
