CAROL WOLFE 1970 - 1986 FLIGHT ATTENDANT DAL DFW DEN There were at least two, maybe three, Carol Wolfes at FL. One was a FA - Carol(1) And another was married to Cal Wolfe and worked in accounting - Carol(2) Possible a third who was a FA. -Jake Lamkins (4/30/06) Posted at the FL Club: Confusion about Carol Wolfe There were at least two Carol Wolfes at FL, possibly a third. The reported death is for Carol A. Wolfe who worked in accounting after being a flight attendant. She was married to accounting manager Cal Wolfe. The other is Carol L. Wolfe who was a flight attendant from 1970 - 86. This Carol is alive and well as far as we know. Sorry for any confusion and many thanks to Donna Harrison for bringing this to my attention and helping resolve it. Jake (5/2/06) Yes, I was a flight attendant based in Dallas from 1970 - 1981, then based in Denver til the end. Actually I thought there were only 2 of us. I know that Carol Wolfe was married to Cal Wolfe. I remember Cal Wolfe as being in charge of the Personnel Dept. I THINK that she might have been a flight attendant before my time. She worked in the GO and I met her briefly when my new uniforms were delivered to her vs. me. I was assigned to the flight attendant training dept. for maybe a year when the program "Flight Plan for Tomorrow" was developed and we travelled around for months delivering that to the stations and to travel agent groups. I also worked in the Program & Dev. training dept under Mark Warriner in the GO for 2 years near the end. I remember in my early days, arriving at the GO for something and there was a huge banner congratulating Carol Wolfe for being in charge of the FL bowling team - much to my surprise. Maybe my having a few different jobs might be the confusion. It just seems that when I worked in the GO the people I met would always mention Cal's wife, but not another one. When I heard of her flown west a few years back, I assumed it was Cal's wife. Someone else assumed it was me! I hope we can find out who's who here! My memory just isn't quite what it once was, but I think I remember all this accurately. I truly want to thank you for all the time and effort you have expended to keep us all informed on our FLamily! It's a terrific job and you've done it well. -Carol Wolfe (9/24/12) Carol and I have remained friends through all these years and right now we're going through an awful time where her husband and I are getting ready to put her in a memory care unit. She has Alzheimer's. She has progressed to the point that Michael just can't take care of her at home. Very very very sad and it is breaking my heart. Probably this Friday we're going to start moving her in and it is going to be an awful time. I always say she's my friend that knows where all the bodies are buried and we can no longer talk about it because she doesn't remember any of it . -Lanette Duncan (3/29/23) Karen Berry I am so sorry! Big hugs to you. I know it will be rough for you Carol Bartley So sorry. I will be praying for all of you. How old is Carol? Pam Coffman Ellis So sorry to hear this. Donna Harrison So sad to hear about Carol W. Please keep us advised about her. (4/1/23) Lanette Duncan at Facebook Many of you will know Carol Wolfe. We have been friends for 50 years. We met as flight attendants in Texas. She has been a big part of my family and so many of my friends outside of the airline became her good friends as well. Many of my Facebook friends will know her and of course, all of my frontier airlines friends on Facebook. Carol is now in memory care she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years ago. It just got to where she could no longer stay home and she's been in memory care for just about a year. All of us at this age of course have lost so many friends and family. I will have to say Alzheimer's is also a death. A very slow one. It is hard to watch her going through this. I always say that she is the one that knows where all the bodies are buried and unfortunately we can no longer sit and laugh about it . (9/24/23) Lanette Duncan on Facebook My dear friend of over 50 years passed away at 2 o'clock this morning. Many of you knew Carol Wolfe through the airline and just through being friends of mine and meeting her doing real estate. She was very close to my family. We always considered her one of the family. She had a fairly brief relationship with Alzheimer's as compared to some people. I think she was diagnosed about three years ago. We are all so happy that she is now at peace. It was so hard watching us lose the Carol that we knew week by week. So now we've got lots of wonderful memories of the Carol that we knew. She was loved by so many people. I'm preparing to build her a memorial webpage. Is there an obituary out yet? -Jake Lamkins (12/14/23) Lanette Duncan I need to go over to her house and find a picture of her in her uniform. Then I will send some info to you. It could be a week or so. She was a very dear friend and I am so glad that she is no longer suffering. I don't think her husband is writing an obituary so he's pretty much putting me in charge of everything. So I will try to get something together and get it to you ASAP. Thanks, Lanette, I'll put the memorial on hold pending your info. A pic in the FL uniform would be great. -Jake Lamkins (12/14/23) Lanette Duncan I am not real techie Jake and if you need to make changes or rearrange something, please feel free to do that. I'm sorry I did not get over to her husband's house to find a picture of her in her uniform. After losing Carol a week ago yesterday I had to take my sister to the emergency room and things are not good there. Anyway, I am just wanted to get something to you and it's still a cute picture of Carol. And again, don't feel like you can't rearrange anything I said because you're more than welcome to. And if you have any questions, please feel free to email me.you are a doll for doing all this stuff. (12/17/23) Dear Lanette, So sorry you are beset with sorrows and problems. That's one aspect of old age they didn't warn us about. I'll start work on Carol's memorial webpage as soon as I finish the one I'm on now. Thanks for the info you sent. Hugs for the Holidays! Jake Lamkins (12/18/23) Lanette, I'm working on Carol's memorial webpage. She was almost a member of my family. They all loved her to death. She and her husband Michael were included in all of our holiday get togethers, birthday get-togethers, just having fun get togethers. I was with her all through her battle with Alzheimer’s. She always remained the sweet Carol that you all knew. I feel fortunate that she remembered me right up until the end. It was hard losing her week by week. But I now am relieved that she is no longer having to live a life, I know she didn’t want to live. I don’t know of one single person that didn’t like her. She is now in a better place. Fred Watson R.I.P Carol (12/26/23) Lanette Duncan on 2/21/24 at Facebook Today was a special day for honoring my dear friend, Carol Wolfe. I spread some of her ashes in the same garden my mother is in when I brought her down here years ago. Mom and Carol loved each other so now they’ll be here telling stories to each other and enjoying the beautiful weather and the beautiful place. I also took her on her last snorkel. The picture of the water is Carol and me snorkeling for our last time together. She loved being at the ocean. I’m glad I was able to bring her. She would’ve loved it. Carol Bartley Beautiful. Barb Bruce Alexander Absolutely amazing. Shirley Leow Brought tears to my eyes. Such a thoughtful and sweet thing to do. Lynn Davis What a beautiful garden! She’ll be very happy there!! (2/21/24) Lanette Duncan Jake, would you mind posting this on the Frontier website, I would like to get the word out to as many people as I can and I don’t have addresses for anywhere near the people I would like. Anyone that would like to attend is certainly welcome. If anyone would like any more info, they can email me at LD 60003@aol.com. I really appreciate your help. You do such a great job with the website and you go above and beyond when it comes to something like this. Thank you. Hope you are well. (4/8/24) Facebook Lanette Duncan Here are a few pictures from Carol Wolfe's celebration of life. I am so sorry I didn’t get more pictures taken, but I was so busy talking to people and running around the room. I’m hoping some people will send me some more photos. It was a very lovely celebration. We told a lot of funny stories about Carol and there were a lot of wonderful memories. We will all miss her terribly. We had people from Frontier Airlines. Also people that she worked with at MCI and that she worked with during her real estate years. Plus, just friends and relatives. It was a great turnout. I wish Carol could’ve seen it. (4/22/24)
