OBITUARY
Bruce Dietrick (1932-2010) 
Bruce was born in 1932 in Lansing, Michigan. 
He completed airborne school in 1951 and served in Korea in the 7th Infantry Division. 
While in Junior college in San Diego, CA, he met his wife of 55 years, Marilyn. 
As a young couple, they managed a ski lodge in Mammoth, 
then moved to Sacramento where they both worked for Aero-Jet General. 
In the early 1960s, Bruce transferred to southern NV, 
to a large underground testing facility that was building nuclear rocket engines. 
While there, he became head of security, 
and after a brief stint in Denver as head of personnel for Frontier Airlines, 
returned to Aero-Jet in public relations. 
When the aerospace industry came to an end, 
he was a campaign manager in a major national political race. 
Next, he was assistant manager of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. 
All this corporate and public relations experience qualified him to move to Clearlake in 1974 
and become the owner/operator of a tiny gas station/beer bar/bait shop. 
He was a past president of the Clearlake Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Elks and Rotary. 
In 1978 he opened Dietrick's Tire & Auto in Lower Lake, and 32 years later it is still run by family. 
Bruce lived his life with humor and kindness. He leaves his wife, Marilyn; his daughter, Denise; 
grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael, and lived enough to witness the 1st birthday of his great-granddaughter, Riley. 
He was predeceased by son, Scott. 
His family and friends, too numerous to count, will miss the twinkle in his eye, 
his warm laughter, and the pearls of wisdom and insight he never even knew he shared. 
A Memorial Service for Bruce will be held on Saturday, March 20 at 11 a.m. 
at Jones and Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel, 16140 Main St., Lower Lake. 
For people unable to attend the service, 
there is a guestbook to sign at Jones and Lewis that will be available all this week.
