BOYD ROSE 1967 - 1986 STATION AGENT, SENIOR STATION AGENT OKC DEN SA FT Boyd H. Rose emp# 07564 per the 8/9/86 DEN Station Roster. -Jake Lamkins (9/24/08) A Boarding Denied?? On a rainy evening late in September, FrontIer's operations were sporadic - - late, early, and on time. One late trip overlapped an on-time departure. The tower supervisor called the gate D-14 ramp supervisor (Boyd Rose) to inform him he had seven more people waiting in the jetway to board the on-time departure. "I don't care who is out there in the jetway! Boyd shot back over the ramp radio circuit. "We're ready to go and I'm not going to delay the flight! The tower supervisor came back with a quick comment: "That's okay Boyd... One of them is the Captain! A few moments later the jetway quietly moved back to the waiting flight... -FRONTIER DAYS (11/1/08) Hub Barker came up to Denver to visit my friend Boyd Rose. We all went out to a country western bar with live entertainment. Sometime during the evening Hub went up to ask the band if he could sing with them. Not knowing Hub, they said okay, thinking he was a drunk and would be funny!! Everyone in the place was stunned including me. He sang a number of Hank William's songs, and the crowd went wild. With that Boyd and I had to stay until closing time, because every time he tried to leave, the band and the crowd made him stay. Boyd and I felt like we were with a celebrity!! The band and the management asked him to please come back the next night. Unfortunately he had to get back to work! I'll never forget Hub and that night, along with several other Hub Barker stories. God bless him, he was a hell of a good man!! -John Winter (5/7/14) John Winter phoned and we chatted 10 minutes or so. He told me about Hub Barker cleaning his windshield in OKC and that Boyd Rose's brain cancer has about finished him off. -Jake Lamkins (3/23/19) B H ROSE #386 DOB 11/18/41 DOH & station agent seniority date of 1/12/67 per the Oct 1986 FL/ALEA Seniority List. -Jake Lamkins (3/23/19) I've been in touch with Boyd on a regular basis. His condition is deteriorating rapidly. He has the same condition as Senator John McCain, no cure. He would really appreciate a call from any of the FAL people he worked with, his wife does most of the talking, He's still in Aurora. Boyd does talk but gets mixed up. -John Winter (7/28/19) Thanks, John, I'll pass it on. -Jake Lamkins (6/28/19) It is with a heavy heart that I received a call from Boyd Rose's wife to tell me that Boyd passed away at home this morning at approximately 2:30 am, after suffering from the same brain cancer that took Senator John McCain. Boyd was a loyal friend and will be missed by myself and many others. He was just one month short of his 78th birthday and a long time ramp agent at several Frontier Airlines stations. According to his wishes there will be no services, his ashes will be scattered in a private location in his beloved Rocky Mountains. -John Winter (8/10/19) I'm sorry to hear about Boyd. Thanks for the voice mail and the FL Club posting. I forwarded it to the FLacebook webpage too. I'll plan to build a memorial webpage for him. Will there be an obituary? I don't have any pix of him. Do you have any to share. -Jake Lamkins (8/11/19) FLacebook - FL Club FLight West: Boyd Rose DEN senior station agent Boyd Rose's memorial webpage is posted at http://FAL-1.tripod.com/Boyd_Rose.html Still need a photo and full obituary for him.
